Five years. Over 10,000 lives. One invitation, straight from our Executive Director.

Our Executive Director, Wuraola Onigbogi-Jackson, has a personal message for you.

Since November 2021, WuraisGold Charity Foundation has reached more than 10,000 people. 2,124 of them face to face in classrooms, clinics, IDP camps, orphanages and market communities. 1,260 of them online. 691 women entered our SWEEAP reform training and 606 completed it.

On Saturday, 7 November 2026, we are putting all of it on the table. The numbers, the names, the lessons, and what comes next.

It took five years to earn the right to ask this question.

What happens to grassroots impact when the funding stops?

That is not a rhetorical question. Nigeria's 2026 humanitarian plan is seeking 516 million dollars to reach 2.5 million people, less than half of those who need help, and it still carries a 159 million dollar shortfall. International financing is contracting while need climbs.

And yet in 2025, the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund channeled a record 70 percent of its direct allocations to national organisations. The sector is turning to local institutions precisely as the money thins out.

So the question is no longer whether Nigerian organisations can deliver. We have answered that. More than 10,000 people reached. 2,124 in person. 1,260 online. 7,000+ Bibles donated. 700 women trained. Ten states. Five years.

The question is what it takes to make that permanent.

On Saturday, 7th November, we are putting that question to government institutions, United Nations agencies, international development partners, corporate partners, academia and the grassroots organisations doing the work. Not to celebrate. To design what comes next.

Fourteen seconds. Five years. And we are still not telling you everything.
Something big and exciting is coming. Brace up for it.

Five years ago WuraisGold Charity Foundation was an idea with no track record but motivation and faith. Today the record reads: more than 10,000 people reached. 2,124 in person. 1,260 online across six countries. 7,000+ bibles distributed. 700+ women trained. Ten states in Nigeria and into the Republic of Niger.

We are marking five years with something we have never done before. A full convening, online, open to everyone, where we put the entire record on the table and say plainly what the next five years will require.

The theme is Institutionalising Local Impact for the Next Phase: Transforming Grassroots Action into Enduring Change.

After our outreach at Thoughts of God Model Academy in Dei-Dei, Abuja, the head of school and the head girl recorded a message for us.

Listen to what they said. Not to the thanks, which is generous, but to what sits underneath it. A school that now has a shelf where there was none. Students who have books in their hands and something to do with them. A head of school already asking about the next visit and a reading corner.

That is the part that matters. Not that the outreach happened, but that the school wants it to continue.

We brought a bookshelf, textbooks for the secondary students and a children's Bible for every primary pupil. Thirty one students, 2 teachers, and the head of school took part in sessions on the importance of reading, SMART boundaries and keeping their environment clean.

We are going back. And we are going to more schools like this one.

Watch the moment Thoughts of God Model Academy got a new library bookshelf.

On the 14th of September, we spent the morning at Thoughts of God Model Academy in Dei-Dei, Abuja.

We brought a bookshelf, textbooks for the secondary students and children's Bibles for every primary pupil. Primary one and two pupils learnt SMART boundaries. Then they were taught how to keep their environment clean.

Books wear out. A shelf stays, and keeps serving children who have not yet enrolled.

We walked into Thoughts of God Model Academy in Abuja and left an impact in the lives of the students.

We did not only donate books. We also donated a bookshelf. Books may be borrowed and lost, but a shelf remains, ready to be filled again long after the visitors have gone.

The secondary school students learned about the importance of reading and how it can build knowledge beyond the classroom, strengthen confidence, improve vocabulary, and encourage better communication. By the end of the session, the students committed to reading ahead of their teachers, not behind them.

For the Primary 1 and 2 pupils, we focused on SMART boundaries, the importance of speaking up early, asking questions when they do not understand, and keeping their environment clean.

Every primary pupil went home with a Children’s Bible, while the secondary school textbooks were placed on the new bookshelf in the school library.

At WuraisGold Charity Foundation, we believe education is not only about what happens in the classroom. It is also about giving children the knowledge, confidence, values, and resources they need to grow.

Thank you to Òrentéh Premium Sanitary Napkin and the Policy Innovation Centre for donating sanitary pads in support of women's health.

This matters more than it is often given credit for. A girl who cannot manage her period safely misses school, and she misses it every month until missing becomes dropping out. Poor menstrual hygiene also carries real health consequences, from infection to preventable discomfort that keeps women out of work and out of classrooms. None of it is caused by biology. It is caused by cost, silence and lack of access.

Menstrual health has been part of our work from the beginning. We have run menstrual health and hygiene sessions in schools across Lagos, Ibadan and Abuja, teaching girls how their cycles work, how to use and dispose of pads safely, and why none of it is something to hide. We include boys and male teachers in those conversations, because stigma is not dismantled in a room of girls alone. And we have distributed free sanitary pads to hundreds of female students in the schools we have reached.

A school can have students, teachers and classrooms, and still not have a single shelf of books.

On Monday, we'll be at Thoughts of God Model Academy to donate a bookshelf and a full range of books, and we will also sit down with the students to talk about why reading matters more than almost anything else we could hand them.

Here is why this one counts. Only about one in four Nigerian children in school can read properly and handle basic mathematics by the age of 14. Not because they cannot learn, but because far too many of them have never had anything to read.

Books get borrowed, worn and eventually lost. A bookshelf stays. Long after we have packed up and left, it will still be standing in that school, still filling, still being used by children who have not yet enrolled.

We are partnering with MABA, Made in Africa Brands Ambassador, for The FMCG Festival 2026.

The Festival is one of the largest business to business consumer goods events in the region, bringing together manufacturers, distributors, retailers and buyers across food, consumer goods, packaging and trade. It runs 9 to 11 November 2026 at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, from 10am daily, with international participation through the Nigerian Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and the Meme Cocoa Buyers Association of Cameroon.

Why we are part of it.

For five years we have trained women and small business owners in procurement access, financial literacy, branding and export readiness. Training is only half the work. The other half is putting those businesses in front of people who can actually buy from them. That is what this Festival does.

Exhibitors will meet distributors and buyers from Nigeria, Cameroon, Italy and Indonesia, and connect with Idumota trader networks and retail supermarket chains.

Most booths have already gone to larger brands. Ten spaces have been reserved specifically for SMEs.
