Prof. Sebastine T. Hon,
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)

FOR YOUR EMINENT CONTRIBUTION TO JUSTICE

Dear Prof. Sebastine T. Hon, SAN,

On behalf of the *Tiv Youths Organization (TYO), Abuja Chapter,* we write to extend our heartfelt appreciation and profound gratitude for your exceptional legal representation in the recent case that led to the ruling of the FCT High Court, striking out the suit filed by Governor Sule against Prof. Zakarias Gundu.

This landmark judgment, which upheld the preliminary objection filed by your esteemed legal team, is not only a victory in the court of law but also a moral triumph for truth, justice, and the rule of law.

It has further solidified our belief in the judicial system as a place of refuge for the oppressed, ensuring that even the most vulnerable are protected under the law.

Your unwavering commitment to upholding justice and defending the rights of the downtrodden is a testament to your distinguished career and unwavering dedication to the cause of the people.

Your legal brilliance in this case, as in many others, has reaffirmed our belief that knowledge, when wielded with integrity and dedication, has the power to silence injustice and protect the weak.

We, the Tiv Youths Organization, commend you for standing as a pillar of support in this battle for justice, and for your invaluable contribution to the cause of the Tiv nation and the Benue Valley.

Your role in this legal victory has provided hope not only to Prof. Zakarias Gundu, but to the displaced Tiv brothers and sisters in the IDP camps, whose cries for justice you continue to amplify.

We are proud to call you one of our own, and we encourage you to remain steadfast in this noble pursuit of justice, dignity, and progress for our people.

Your actions have inspired generations, and we are grateful for your continued dedication to the cause of our community.

Once again, we thank you for your brilliance, dedication, and unwavering support.

Long live the Tiv Nation!

Long live justice!

Yours sincerely,

COMMENTARY ON THE CORONATION AND CELEBRATION OF THE TIV COMMUNITY'S FIRST-CLASS CHIEF IN FCT ABUJA CHIEF AMBASSADOR JOSEPH ANEH JP, AS OR U HEMEN TIV U FCT ABUJA CII, ON NOVEMBER 1, 2025

Prince Michael Terver Kokoiwen, President Mdzough U Tiv Abuja Chapter.

The coronation and celebration of Chief Ambassador Joseph Aneh JP as the First-Class Chief (Or U Hemen Tiv) of the Tiv Community in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, marks a historic milestone in the journey of the Tiv people in the Nigerian diaspora. This event goes beyond a ceremonial recognition it symbolizes the affirmation of Tiv unity, identity, and leadership in the nation’s capital, which serves as the convergence point for diverse Tiv sons and daughters across Nigeria and beyond.

Chief Aneh’s coronation provides an opportunity to reflect deeply on the imperative of unity among the Tiv community in diaspora. The FCT, being Nigeria’s administrative and political nerve center, offers the Tiv community a unique platform to consolidate their collective strength, nurture solidarity, and pursue common goals. In this light, the enthronement of a First-Class Chief is not merely a cultural milestone but a call to order a call for cohesion, mutual respect, and the revival of traditional values that define the Tiv identity.

The Tiv people have long been known for their resilience, courage, and commitment to justice and progress. However, for these virtues to translate into meaningful development, especially in a politically strategic space like Abuja, unity of purpose is essential. The coronation, therefore, must be seen as a rallying point for the Tiv community to overcome internal divisions, reinforce cultural pride, and present a united front in national dialogue and political participation.

Furthermore, the celebration underscores the beauty and relevance of Tiv traditional institutions in modern governance. By elevating a respected traditional leader in the FCT, the community not only preserves its heritage but also strengthens the bridge between culture and contemporary administration.

Traditional leadership, when anchored on integrity, inclusiveness, and vision, becomes a powerful tool for social organization, conflict resolution, and political representation.

The Tiv community in Abuja and other parts of Nigeria’s diaspora must, therefore, see this coronation as a clarion call to build an organized, politically active, and development-oriented Tiv nation. Unity in diaspora is not just a cultural necessity; it is a political and economic strategy for empowerment. Through collective action, the Tiv can more effectively engage government institutions, attract development initiatives, and ensure their voices are heard in national affairs.

As Chief Ambassador Joseph Aneh JP assumes this revered role, may his leadership inspire renewed trust, cooperation, and cultural pride among the Tiv people. Let this moment ignite a spirit of oneness where every Tiv son and daughter, regardless of background or status, commits to the advancement of the Tiv nation and the strengthening of its traditional institutions.
Indeed, the FCT Abuja now stands as a beacon of Tiv unity, and from this center, the spirit of brotherhood, purpose, and progress must radiate to all corners where the Tiv people dwell.

Long live Chief Ambassador Joseph Aneh JP.
Long live the Tiv nation.
Long live our unity in diversity.

Signed:

Amb. Tersoo S Orbunde, Chief Press Secretary to the President, Mdzough U Tiv Abuja Chapter.

Akume remains SGF

There has been no change in the status of His Excellency, Senator George Akume, as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, currently in Saint Lucia, has not made any new appointments.

The information circulating about Akume's replacement is untrue. Agents of mischief fabricated it.

23/12/2024

PRESS CONFERENCE BY TIV YOUTHS’ ORGANIZATION (WORLDWIDE)ON THE BRUTAL KILLING OF TIV INDIGENES IN
NASARAWA, TARABA, BENUE, AND OTHER STATE CALL FOR ACTION

DATE: 23TH DECEMBER, 2024; VENUEN: UJ MAKURDI BENUE STATE CAPITAL

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press,
Fellow Nigerians, We, the Tiv Youths Organization (Worldwide), stand before you today with heavy hearts and great sorrow to address the alarming and persistent acts of violence, brutal killings, and displacement of Tiv indigenes across
Nasarawa, Taraba, Benue, and other states. This press conference is a call to action, a clarion demand for justice, and a solemn pledge to stand firm in the face of these barbaric acts.

The Tiv people, known for our peaceful nature, resilience, and contribution to the growth and development of Nigeria, have continuously been subjected to unjustified and targeted attacks. We cannot remain
silent while our brothers and sisters are slaughtering cold blood, our communities razed, and our heritage threatened by relentless aggression.

THE GRIM REALITY
The statistics are heartbreaking. Over the past year alone, hundreds of Tiv indigenes have been murdered, thousands displaced, and countless homes destroyed by marauding assailants. These attacks, often carried out under the cover of darkness, leave behintrdails of tears, agony, and despair. In Nasarawa, Taraba, and Benue, entire communities have been
rendered homeless, farmlands destroyed, and livelihoods shattered.

This wave of violence is not random; it is systemic, coordinated, and aimed at the total annihilation of our people. These atrocities represent not just an attack on Tiv indigenes but on the very fabric of Nigeria's unity and peaceful coexistence.

OUR DEMANDS
1. Justice for Victims : We call on the Federal and State
Governments to ensure that perpetrators of these heinous crimes
are apprehended and brought to justice without delay.

2. Protection of Lives and Property : We demand immediate
deployment of security forces to affected areas to prevent further
attacks and safeguard the lives of Tiv indigenes.

3. Humanitarian Support : We urge relevant government agencies and international organizations to provide urgent relief materials, medical aid, and resettlement plans for displaced persons.

4. End to Land Grabbing : We call for immediate investigation and cessation of illegal land grabbing, which has become a major source of conflict in our communities.

5. Dialogue and Reconciliation : We encourage the government to initiate dialogue with all stakeholders to address underlying issues fueling these attacks and foster lasting peace.

TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
We appeal to the United Nations, African Union, and other international human rights organizations to intervene and ensure that justice prevails. The world must not turn a blind eye to the plight of the Tiv people.

OUR LEADERS MUST RISE TO THE OCCASION
Traditional rulers, political leaders, and religious leaders MUST live up to their expectations and responsibilities. Silence and complacency in the face of these atrocities amount to complicity. We demand that our leaders demonstrate courage, stand with the people, and use their influence to bring an end to this carnage. History will not be kind to those who fail their people in these trying times. Leadership is not a privilege but a
responsibility, and we will hold accountable those who choose to neglect this sacred duty.

OUR RESOLVE
The Tiv Youths Organization will not relent in defending the rights and
lives of our people. We are ready to partner with all peace-loving Nigerians
and relevant authorities to ensure that peace and justice prevail in our
land.

TYO hereby cries to the revered father of all Tiv sons and daughters all over the world, His Royal Majesty Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse CFR and the Executive Governor of Benue state Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, PhD, to intervene by visiting the Emir of Lafia Nasarawa State Governor to collectively find a lasting solution to the carnage.
We call on all Tiv sons and daughters to remain vigilant, united, and steadfast. Let us work together to protect our heritage and secure the future for the next generation.

Thank you and may God bless the Tiv Nation and Nigeria.

Signed:
Patrick Terfa Angbagh
Acting President, TYO
