Neil Life Foundation, in collaboration with Urgent Action Fund, would be visiting Vision FM to deepen conversations around Gender-Based Violence (GBV), especially how it affects women and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The visit would be an opportunity to listen, learn, and share insights on the unique forms of violence and discrimination faced by women and girls with disabilities, who are often excluded from mainstream GBV responses.

We will explore inclusive strategies to ensure that advocacy, protection services, and community support systems truly respond to everyone’s needs leaving no one behind.

Today, we celebrate White Cane Safety Day, a powerful reminder that independence, mobility, and confidence belong to everyone, including persons who are blind or visually impaired.

The white cane is more than a mobility tool, it’s a symbol of freedom, dignity, and resilience. With every tap of the cane, people navigate their world with courage, proving that vision goes far beyond what the eyes can see. It represents the determination to move forward, the right to access public spaces safely, and the strength to live life fully and independently.

The Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Special Needs, Mr. Bem Ashe, delivered a powerful and thought provoking speech during the one day Storytelling and Advocacy Workshop held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

He urged participants to share what they learned from the workshop within their communities, so that the impact of storytelling and advocacy would spread far beyond the event. His words were a reminder that every story told has the power to create awareness, challenge stigma, and promote inclusion across Benue State and beyond.

The session ended with renewed hope and determination as participants committed to using storytelling as a tool for social transformation.

The Neil Life Foundation one-day storytelling advocacy workshop, held in collaboration with the Nigeria Youth Future Fund (NYFF) , was a powerful space of learning, sharing, and collaboration. Together, we explored how storytelling can be used as a tool to shift narratives, build empathy, and advocate for inclusive change.

Participants gained practical skills on crafting impactful stories, while also working collectively to amplify youth voices for a better future. This partnership with NYFF reminds us that when people are empowered to tell their stories, they drive the change their communities need.

Neil Life Foundation for Persons with Disabilities, in collaboration with Urgent Action Fund , paid an advocacy visit to the Kano State Emergency Management Agency.

The visit focused on sensitizing stakeholders on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response for women with disabilities in IDP camps.

Together, we are working to ensure that women with disabilities are protected, heard, and empowered in humanitarian settings. 💜

19/08/2025

The Neil Life Foundation, in partnership with Urgent Action Fund , carried out its second visit to IDP camps in Kano State, this time reaching a different camp community with our message of hope, safety, and empowerment. 💜

Our mission on this visit was centered on training around Gender-Based Violence (GBV): prevention, response, and support systems for survivors. In Kano, as in many regions, women and girls in displacement face heightened risks, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, economic exploitation, forced marriages, and the trauma of silence. Within the fragile structures of IDP camps, these risks multiply as women struggle with poverty, insecurity, and limited access to justice or healthcare.

Every visit reminds us that beyond statistics are real stories of courage, survival, and determination. At Neil Life Foundation, we remain committed to ensuring that no woman or girl is left behind in the struggle for dignity, safety, and equality.

💡 One camp at a time, one woman at a time together, we are rewriting the story.
