Through this media engagement, we highlighted the importance of accessible early-warning information, inclusive emergency planning, and ensuring that persons with disabilities—especially women and other vulnerable groups—are not left behind during flood emergencies.

Climate change affects everyone, but not equally. Vulnerable communities, including persons with disabilities, often bear the greatest burden. Building a sustainable future means ensuring that climate action is inclusive, accessible, and leaves no one behind. 🌱♿

- Indeed flooding isn't an experience anyone should encounter as from the physical disruption and life's and properties, it's a lasting emotional trauma.

- This is especially profound for persons with disabilities and that is why our ongoing campaign on flood caution in Kogi State is on early warning signs and mitigation strategy to enhance healthy living

Climate change is no longer a distant threat—it’s already affecting our communities through floods, heatwaves, droughts, and food insecurity. But solutions exist, and every action matters.

🌱 Plant and protect trees.
♻️ Reduce, reuse, and recycle.
⚡ Choose cleaner energy where possible.
💧 Conserve water.
🚶 Walk, cycle, or use public transport when you can.
🗣️ Advocate for policies that protect our environment.
🤝 Support community-led climate action and ensure no one, especially vulnerable groups, is left behind.

The fight against climate change isn’t just about protecting the planet—it’s about protecting people, our future, and the generations to come.

What climate action are you taking today? 🌍💚

♥️ Paying attention isn't a one-time practice it's a habit of being intentional about your environment.

♥️ As the rainy season continues, let's stay alert and take proactive steps to reduce the risks of flooding, especially for persons with disabilities, who often face greater challenges during emergencies.

♥️ Check your surroundings, clear blocked drainages where possible, stay informed about weather updates, identify safe evacuation routes, and look out for one another.

♥️ Flood preparedness is everyone's responsibility, but inclusion must remain at the heart of every response.

🎤 Let's mitigate against flooding. Let's protect lives. Let's leave no one behind. 🌍♿🌧️
