From 8–13 December 2025, stakeholders, technical partners, and field experts convened in Abuja for an intensive Protocol Review and Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop for the MNCH Supply-Side Assessment across eight states.

Over six days, participants engaged in:
• In-depth reviews of facility, provider, PPMV, and CHO/CHEW assessment tools
• Hands-on data collection simulations and SurveyCTO practice
• Quality control, ethics, triangulation, and health systems assessments
• Field practice sessions across PHC, secondary facilities, and community settings

This workshop marks a critical step toward generating high-quality, actionable data to strengthen maternal, newborn, and child health service delivery in Nigeria.

We remain committed to evidence-driven programming and capacity building that supports sustainable health systems at scale.

Today, as we step into a brand new month, we are reminded that every new beginning carries its own light, its own hope, and its own invitation to do better for the communities we serve. ✨❤️

This month opens with World AIDS Day — a day that calls us to remember, to reflect, and to reaffirm our commitment to ending the HIV epidemic across West Africa.

At WACPHD, each December 1st reminds us of the countless lives touched by resilience, advocacy, innovation and care. It reminds us of families strengthened by knowledge, communities protected by prevention, and systems improved by collaboration.

Today, we celebrate progress.
We honour those we have lost.
We stand beside those living with HIV.
And we keep pushing for a future where stigma has no home, and access to care is equal for all.

Here’s to a month of renewed purpose, strengthened partnerships, and deeper impact.
Here’s to showing up — for our communities, for public health, and for a healthier West Africa. 🌍✨

Happy New Month. Happy World AIDS Day.
Let’s keep moving forward… together. ❤️

Today at the National Agency for the Control of AIDS, leaders and partners came together ahead of World AIDS Day 2025 — united under the theme: “Overcoming Disruptions, Sustaining Nigeria’s HIV Response.”

From government representatives to WHO, UN, CDC, APIN, IHVN, and community voices, the message was clear:
✨ Nigeria has made remarkable progress
✨ Communities remain at the heart of the response
✨ Innovation and collaboration are more important than ever
✨ And yes — AIDS is not over

WACPHD was proud to play a small but meaningful role by supporting the event with the branded shirts worn across the press conference — standing in solidarity with all partners working to protect the progress made so far.

Here’s to resilience.
Here’s to community strength.

Over two days, something powerful happened in our learning community.
In a quiet room filled with laptops, transcripts, sticky notes, and shared determination, WACPHD hosted an intensive manuscript development workshop—guided by the brilliant minds of Rob and Lisa, and enriched by the collective experience of every participant in the room.
From the very first session, it was clear that this was more than a technical training. It was a moment of clarity for many of us—an opportunity to slow down, reread, rethink, and truly listen to what our qualitative data has been trying to tell us.
We revisited transcripts with new eyes.
We questioned assumptions.
We learned how not to force stories, but to let the voices of our participants lead the way.
Through hands-on coding, deep discussions, and countless “aha” moments, we built stronger data stories—ones rooted in truth, dignity, and the lived experiences of key populations.
By Day 2, the room had transformed. Groups became teams. Codes became themes. And themes became the beginnings of manuscripts that will shape evidence, influence programs, and push national conversations forward.
This workshop wasn’t just about learning a method—it was about strengthening our voice as a community of public health researchers, analysts, and storytellers.
We left inspired.
We left more skilled.
And most importantly, we left ready to turn data into knowledge, and knowledge into impact.
Here’s to intentional work.
To collaboration.
To evidence that uplifts.
And to the stories that still need to be told.

More than one week later, and the energy from the 2025 National Hepatitis Summit still resonates deeply. 💚

The summit was more than just an event — it was a defining moment for collective action, where voices from across sectors came together to drive the conversation on hepatitis prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in Nigeria.

Every dialogue, every shared insight, and every commitment made during the summit reflected one powerful truth: eliminating hepatitis is possible when collaboration meets purpose.

From policy leaders and health professionals to researchers and advocates, the summit showcased the strength of unified effort — transforming research findings into real-world strategies and partnerships that can make measurable impact. 🌍

This recap captures not only the highlights but the spirit of progress that continues beyond the event — a shared determination to build stronger systems, increase access to care, and create awareness that leads to lasting change.

As we look ahead, we’re inspired by the progress made and motivated by what lies ahead. The work continues — with renewed focus, shared vision, and unwavering commitment to a hepatitis-free Nigeria. 💪🏽💛💚

Together, we’re not just imagining a healthier future — we’re building it.
