Healthcare Must Reach Every Community

There are communities that are not only lacking awareness about hepatitis, they are also lacking access to basic primary healthcare.

During our community health outreach in Iddo Community along Airport Road, Abuja, the reality was deeply concerning. Our team was surprised to discover that a community located within the Federal Capital Territory, right in the heart of Abuja, does not have a functional primary healthcare facility readily available to serve its residents.

This experience reminded us that health awareness alone is not enough.

When we tell people to test, vaccinate, seek treatment, or protect their families, we must also ask: Where will they go to access these services?

Underserved communities need more than health campaigns. They need accessible PHCs, trained health workers, essential medicines, vaccination services, testing and referral systems.

Healthcare should not depend on how close a community is to the city centre.

Every community deserves access to basic healthcare. Every family deserves a chance to live a healthy life.

It is time to bring healthcare closer to the people.

Are you aware of the silent crisis in our communities?

Every day, thousands of people lose their lives—not because they lack awareness of their symptoms, but because they simply cannot afford the cost of care. For many living in underserved communities, financial constraints force them into a heartbreaking decision: to live with an illness in silence, choosing the perceived "safety" of ignorance over a medical bill they know they can never pay.

This is the reality of health poverty, and it is a cycle we are determined to break.

At Phoebe and Partners Support and Awareness Initiative, we believe that quality healthcare should be a fundamental right, not a financial privilege. This September 2026, we are launching the Suleja Community Medical Outreach to bring free, life-saving medical consultations, screenings, eye care, and essential medicines directly to the vulnerable residents of Suleja, Niger State.
