Activista Nigeria took part in the partners’ annual coordination meeting hosted by Youth-Hub Africa.

The gathering felt timely and necessary. It reaffirmed a shared commitment to lifting the voices and demands of young Nigerians, especially around the issues that shape their everyday realities , gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), inclusive governance and youth-centered policy reform.

Young leaders from across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones were in the room, alongside coalitions, movements and networks working at different levels. The focus was simple but powerful, align our efforts, strengthen collaboration and move together with intention rather than in isolation.

Beyond coordination, the meeting created space for reflection. We examined shared challenges, explored real opportunities for youth leadership and mapped out clearer, more strategic pathways for collective and effective policy influence.

The work continues. We keep organising. We keep mobilising.

Yesterday, Activista Anambra, in collaboration with the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network Anambra, marked the International Day of Education with a purposeful outreach at Lafiaji Primary School, Fegge, Onitsha.

As part of our commitment to impacting lives and community-based projects, we distributed free school uniforms to four (4) pupils who have lost either one or both parents. Witnessing the joy and confidence on the children’s faces as they received their uniforms was deeply encouraging.

Beyond the distribution, the conversations we had were equally impactful. The stories shared by the pupils highlighted the real challenges many families face in providing basic educational needs. These moments served as a powerful reminder of why targeted, community-based interventions remain essential.

Education is not a privilege, it is a right. When children are supported with the important tools they need to learn, we empower them to grow, thrive, and contribute meaningfully to society.

We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who made this outreach possible. The cooperation and openness of the school leadership also contributed greatly to the success of the outreach.

We were able to restore the dignity and self-esteem of these pupils.
