Welcome to our page.

DIVENI became a reality a little over a year ago. In actual fact though, it was conceived over 22 years ago. It was part of a regular getting-to-know you discussion between two young people about to get married.

One was expressing a sincere passion, the other, not too sure how it would fit into the scheme of things. The idea was mooted and left at that.

Over the years, casual steps were taken towards impacting the lives of widows and vulnerable children, including those in orphanages, whenever the opportunity presented itself. Nothing intentional, just occasional. But we never missed an opportunity. Now it all adds up.

The lemonade truly began to emerge from the lemons as part of the process of transforming pain to gain. This followed the September 8, 2018 (*) episode which launched us into a totally new world. From there sprung forth DIVENI!!!

So, as I look back on today, September 8, it's with sincere gratitude for the privilege of being alive. And of a truth, all things are working together for good.πŸ‘πŸ½

POSER: Cast your mind back. Can you remember any aspiration, passionate (and legitimate) desire, goal or simply a dream? It fleets across the mind from time to time but for now that's as far as you've allowed it to go - a fleeting thought. Stop now and revisit it; it might just be another DIVENI waiting to be birthed. πŸ«ƒπŸΎ

We'll talk some more from time to time. Stay tunedπŸ™πŸΎ

***We'll get round to the details, for those who don't know, someday as we journey on😊

We all grew up to know at least one special day of the year - that is our birthday - with or without the fanfare of jellof rice and cake. Of course with time we began to look forward to several other days - religious observances, landmark achievements and the like. For some however, fate may thrust some other "special" days on us depending on how you intend to look at it.

Today December 3rd, as you know, has become a special day for a community spread accross villages, towns and cities all over the world. It's the International Day for People With Disabilities, IDPD.

Many became a part of this community from early childhood while for some of us, as they say, life just happened. I'm one of them since 2018 when I became a double amputee.

Please be inspired by this song dedicated to this community which I dropped on my 60th birthday, earlier this year. "You Can Make it" is a message of hope and encouragement, not just for us PWDs, but for anyone going through a traumatic experience or simply feeling discouraged about life.
