For farmers, the environment is the foundation of production.

One season of drought.
One heavy flood.
One shift in temperature.

And everything changes.

Food production.
Harvest timing.
Farming costs.
Even food on our tables.

is not just about nature.

Itโ€™s about the system that feeds us all.

๐ŸŒฑ Protect the environment.
๐ŸŒพ Protect farming.
๐Ÿฒ Protect food security.

That vision sat at the heart of the Farmers' Hub commissioning under the .

More than a facility, the Farmers' Hub is designed to serve as a centre for agricultural services, innovation, and community growth - helping farmers become more productive, profitable, and resilient.

A few highlights from the commissioning ceremony.

Behind every Farmersโ€™ Hub is a team of people responsible for ensuring that farmers within their communities are properly supported, connected, and carried along.

To strengthen that process, the Farmersโ€™ Hub Managers from the 7 LGAs of Bauchi North were brought together for a two-day onboarding programme focused on preparing them for the coordination and management of the hubs under the ESTRRA Project.

The onboarding sessions covered hub operations, record keeping, market linkages, financial management, community engagement, data capturing, contract signing and sustainability - equipping the Hub Managers with practical knowledge needed to support farmers and improve service delivery within their communities.

As part of the programme, the Hub Managers also engaged with Rhizosphere Agro Nigeria Limited, where discussions focused on building stronger agricultural networks, improving access to quality inputs, and strengthening support systems around the hubs.

The Access Bank team in Azare, Bauchi State, were also present during the onboarding, supporting the opening of business accounts for the Hub Managers to encourage proper financial tracking, accountability, and structured business operations across the hubs - while also strengthening collaboration and partnership around the ESTRRA Project.

Beyond the sessions themselves, the onboarding created room for collaboration, shared learning, and conversations around building hubs that are not only functional, but sustainable for the communities they serve.

The CPIC is a community-based structure made up of farmers, women representatives, youth, traditional and religious leaders, persons living with disabilities, market actors, and other key stakeholders selected to support the implementation of the project within their various communities.

Through the training sessions held across the project locations, participants were introduced to the goals of the ESTRRA Project and engaged on the role CPIC members will play in promoting accountability, transparency, community participation, communication, and long-term sustainability of project activities.

The sessions also created an opportunity for communities to better understand the project, ask questions, share ideas, and strengthen collaboration with the project team - reinforcing the importance of local ownership in building lasting impact.

The Foundation for Sustainable Smallholder Solutions (FSSS), in partnership with the Heineken Africa Foundation, officially commissioned 11 Farmersโ€™ Hubs across the 7 LGAs of Bauchi North under the .

Established within communities, the hubs are designed to improve access to agricultural support, climate-smart farming solutions, income-generating opportunities, market linkages, trainings, quality inputs, processing facilities, and other services that directly support smallholder farmers and rural livelihoods.

The launch brought together traditional leaders, beneficiaries, women groups, youth, community members, and other stakeholders in a moment that reflected how far the project has come within a short time.

The excitement from beneficiaries and the conversations shared throughout the launch reflected what these hubs already mean to the communities they were built for - a new sense of possibility, support, and opportunity for farmers and families across Bauchi North.
