Across northern Nigeria, nearly 6.4 million children under five are affected by acute malnutrition. Preventing malnutrition starts with connecting families to the knowledge and tools they need to help children thrive.
That’s why staff with the Integrated Humanitarian Assistance in Northeast Nigeria (IHANN) Project, implemented by FHI 360 UK, are teaching caregivers to transform locally available ingredients into nutritious, age-appropriate meals for infants and young children. Through the demonstrations, caregivers also learn about safe food preparation, hygiene, and appropriate feeding practices.
This World Humanitarian Day, we honor the humanitarian workers, like Judith, (in the red apron), who provide life-saving support to communities in northeastern Nigeria and around the world.
This work is made possible through support from the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF).
