EGG-CELLENT INITIATIVE 2.0 was a SUCCESS!

June 19, World Sickle Cell Day 2026, Sickle Cell Free-Society Initiative in collaboration with the Climate & Sustainable Development Network - CSDevNet reached out to sickle cell warriors and their families with nutritional support, awareness, and hope.

Through the Egg-cellent Initiative 2.0, we distributed over 100 crates of eggs and engaged with warriors at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, reinforcing an important message:

“GOOD NUTRITION MATTERS IN SICKLE CELL CARE”

We are grateful to our partners, volunteers, donors, healthcare workers, and everyone who contributed to making this initiative a success.

Together, we are building a healthier and more supportive future for people living with sickle cell disorder.

WORLD SICKLE CELL DAY 2026 IS ALMOST HERE…

For many warriors, something as simple as having nutritious food on the table is becoming increasingly difficult due to the rising cost of living. Yet good nutrition remains an important part of sickle cell care.

This is why the Sickle Cell Free-Society Initiative will be launching the EGG-CELLENT INITIATIVE 2.0 on World Sickle Cell Day 2026.

Our goal is simple: to donate crates of eggs to struggling sickle cell warriors and support their nutritional needs.

But today, we need your help.

The event date is fast approaching, and we are still raising funds to purchase enough crates of eggs for the warriors who are counting on us. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help us reach more lives and put smiles on more faces.

A single crate sponsored can make a difference.

Your kindness can remind someone that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
