Fever, sore throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, swollen neck, or a thick grey/white throat coating.

🏥 SEEK CARE EARLY:
Take anyone with these signs immediately to the nearest PHC or health facility.

💉 PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN:
During the vaccination campaign, take eligible children to the nearest PHC or designated vaccination point. Complete routine immunisation and share accurate information.

Building Trust. Strengthening Accountability. Reaching Every Child.

Chigari Foundation, as a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) grantee, continues to support efforts to strengthen traditional institutions, improve childhood immunisation, build community trust, and address non-compliance in Kaduna State.

Yesterday 10th September 2026, the Chigari_foundation Kaduna team, alongside Punch Newspapers and Premium Times media team supported by the Gates Foundation, visited His Royal Highness Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Emir of Zazzau, who granted an interview on the impact of Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) and Routine Immunisation (RI) interventions in the Zazzau Emirate.

His Royal Highness acknowledged a significant improvement in vaccine uptake across the community and commended Chigari Foundation’s efforts toward building a healthier community.

This engagement is part of a broader field-based documentation effort facilitated by Nigerian Health Watch, bringing together traditional leaders, ECCoHs, Data and Accountability Clerks, Local Immunisation Officers, caregivers, and vaccination teams to connect programme interventions with data, frontline experience, and community voices.

When trusted traditional institutions, communities, and health systems work together, immunisation impact becomes sustainable.

Strengthening Polio Vaccination Through Strategic Community Engagement

Chigari Foundation is providing technical support to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency for the IBRA Round 2 polio vaccination campaign in August 2026, across 15 implementing states.

Our support spans Traditional and Religious Leaders Engagement, social mobilization, demand generation, non-compliance resolution, team performance and supportive supervision to strengthen campaign implementation at community, ward, LGA, state and national levels.

Through coordinated stakeholder engagement and daily review mechanisms, we are supporting timely identification and resolution of operational challenges while strengthening accountability throughout the campaign cycle.

Chigari Foundation remains committed to supporting stronger immunization systems, trusted community leadership and improved access to vaccination for every eligible child.

Mary’s Story: When the Right Tool Can Change a Life

Through a partnership between Chigari Foundation, Project C.U.R.E., and the Adamawa State Government, donated medical supplies and equipment are helping strengthen healthcare delivery and improve lives across communities.

For many families, access to the right medical equipment can mean the difference between uncertainty and hope.

Mary’s story is one of them.

A vital surgical tool, made available through Project C.U.R.E.’s medical donation programme, helped transform the lives of a young Nigerian woman and her family—demonstrating how strategic partnerships and targeted investments in healthcare can create lasting impact.

In the past year alone, Project C.U.R.E.’s donated medical supplies and equipment reached an estimated 7.5 million patients, supporting health facilities and healthcare workers to provide safer, more effective care.

At Chigari Foundation, we remain committed to working with government and development partners to strengthen health systems, expand access to quality healthcare, and ensure that lifesaving resources reach the communities that need them most.

Every piece of equipment delivered can represent a life improved, a family supported, and a community given renewed hope.
