Ecosteward and Humanitarian Foundation(EHF) were proud to participate in the National Young People’s Convening on NDC 3.0 and Climate Action organized by ActionAid Nigeria in collaboration with GIZ in Abuja.

The convening brought together young people, youth-led organizations, and key stakeholders to discuss Nigeria’s climate commitments under NDC 3.0, strengthen youth engagement in climate governance, and develop a collective youth position on climate action priorities.

As organizations committed to climate justice, environmental sustainability, and youth empowerment, we contributed to critical discussions on climate-resilient agrifood systems, green jobs, renewable energy, industrial decarbonization, and the role of young people in shaping Nigeria’s climate future.

We believe that young people must be at the center of climate decision-making processes, not only as beneficiaries but as leaders, innovators, and change-makers driving sustainable solutions.

Together, we are building a climate-resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future for Nigeria. 🌱🇳🇬

What if the future of food in Nigeria depends on the policies we shape today?

As agroecology continues to gain ground across communities in Nigeria, the need to align practice with policy becomes even more important.

With support from Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA), Ecosteward Foundation and partners has made contributions to the development of the "Policy Matrix for Integrating Agroecology into Nigeria’s Agricultural Frameworks" a practical resource highlighting policy gaps, entry points, and clear pathways for integrating agroecology into Nigeria’s agricultural systems.

If we want food systems that truly support farmers, communities, and the environment, then policy must work hand in hand with practice.
