Helpline Social Support Initiative We focus on improving the lives of vulnerable people especially women, children, and youths in under-resourced communities in Nigeria.

Helpline Foundation registered as an NGO with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria in 2003 as Pure Saints Home but changed its name to Helpline Foundation in 2010. Some of the projects we have developed and currently run include:

We are strong advocates for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria and collaborate with various organizations to help Nigeria meet up with its SDG obligations. Helpline Foundation operates under the leadership of a Board of Directors and its founder, Dr. (Mrs.) Jumai Ahmadu who coordinates the activities of staff and volunteers towards achieving the NGO's objectives. We are open to partnerships and collaborations that would improve the lives of vulnerable people and make our world a better place.

Today, we proudly celebrates our exceptional Founder, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, a visionary leader, compassionate humanitarian, and tireless advocate for women and widows across Africa.

Dr. Jumai Ahmadu has dedicated herself to transforming lives through humanitarian service, social support, advocacy, and economic empowerment.

Her remarkable efforts have restored hope, strengthened communities, and helped countless women and widows build more secure and dignified futures.

We celebrate her courage, compassion, and extraordinary strides in creating lasting social impact. Her leadership continues to inspire us to serve humanity with purpose and kindness.

May God continue to bless, strengthen, favour, and uplift her in all her endeavours. May this new chapter bring greater accomplishments, good health, joy, and fulfilment.

At the International Widows' Day 2026 celebration, we witnessed stories of resilience and determination.

This year, widows from 21 Helpline Social Support Initiative (HSSI) clusters across the FCT, Kogi, Niger, Nasarawa, Kaduna, and Enugu gathered not as charity recipients, but as empowered women building their futures.

Dr. Joan Jummai Idonije, representing Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, shared a message highlighting the vital role of widows in society and community stability.

The event showcased products and skills gained from empowerment programs, shared inspiring testimonies, promoted financial literacy, and emphasized health and hygiene through WASH education.

At HSSI, we believe every widow deserves dignity and opportunity. Through our loan schemes and skills training, we support them in creating sustainable livelihoods.

"Join the challenge to promote nutritional, healthy food security, sustainable urban agriculture, and innovative farming techniques using limited space."

Dr. Jumai Ahmadu’s call to action set the stage for the 10,000,000 Yam Sack Bag Farming Challenge and Urban Smart Agribusiness event held at Diplomat Parks and Gardens in Abuja.

The message from the day was straightforward: you don't need a massive farm to help solve the nation's hunger problem. Chief Agbaji Chinedu of Ezocha Farm Services emphasized that with the little space you have, you can grow what you eat. It is about moving away from total dependence on farmers and taking control of our own food supply.

Nigeria is already the world's leading yam producer, and as expert Francis Danlami noted, there is a huge opportunity for residents to tap into this. By using sack bags, anyone with a small backyard or balcony can produce organic food and contribute to our collective food security.

The initiative, organized by Helpline Social Support Initiative in partnership with Ezocha Farm Services and Teleosgrande Farms, brought together women from various government ministries and civil society groups to focus on practical, smart farming.

In commemoration of International Women's Day, Helpline Social Support Initiative Abuja organized a kick-off of a 30-day mentorship program on Saturday, 7th March 2026, with the theme "Give to Gain."

The event emphasized the importance of women supporting one another on the path to empowerment. 🌟

Representing the Founder, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, the Project Director, Mrs. Ene Adeshida, inspired attendees with a powerful message about collaboration over competition. She reminded us that true empowerment comes from lifting each other. When we share our time, knowledge, and resources, we not only strengthen our communities but also pave the way for future generations.

With programs designed to uplift women from all walks of life, through training in digital skills or providing resources for entrepreneurial ventures, Helpline Social Support Initiative is committed to fostering a culture of solidarity and support.
