Invest in breastfeeding. Strengthen health systems. Give every child a healthy start.
WHO urges countries to strengthen breastfeeding support and health systems to help mothers and give children the best start in life. Strong breastfeeding support + strong health systems = healthier children and stronger communities. Let’s invest in mothers, support breastfeeding, and give every child the best start in life. Healthy beginnings build healthier futures.
At Lady Helen Child Health Foundation, we believe that protecting a child's future begins with quality care from the earliest stages of life. Through nutrition advocacy, parental education, research, and promotion of evidence-based healthcare practices, we are committed to improving health outcomes for children and empowering families with reliable health information.

By investing in early-life health, we can help every child have the opportunity to grow, develop, and thrive. Follow Lady Helen Child Health Foundation for more updates on maternal and child health advocacy.

Taking Self-Care Seriously!
Self-care is not selfish—it’s essential. Take time to rest, recharge, seek support, and protect your wellbeing. When caregivers are supported and healthy, families and children benefit too.Make self-care a priority. By prioritizing rest, emotional wellbeing, healthy habits, and seeking support when needed, we strengthen ourselves, our families, and our communities.

Self care can mean choosing a healthier diet, doing more exercise, or quitting smoking; in other words the things we do to look after our health and wellbeing. Self Care is also increasingly seen as a way to make healthcare more widely available, cost-effective and empowering for patients.

Tomorrow 6th August, 2026 at 10:00 AM, the Lady Helen Child Health Foundation will be live at the Amuwo Odofin Maternal and Child Centre (AOMCC) to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.

This year, our mission aligns deeply with the global call to: “Promote enabling environments that help women to breastfeed.” Creating supportive spaces whether at home, in the workplace, or within healthcare facilities is not just a women's issue; it is a vital public health priority that ensures optimal infant nutrition and maternal well-being.

We are incredibly proud of our team's commitment to taking this advocacy straight to the grassroots level in Lagos. A sincere thank you to the management and dedicated healthcare professionals at AOMCC for partnering with us to champion this cause.

Join us tomorrow morning as we advocate, educate, and empower!
