Today, the Foundation for Resilient Empowerment and Development (FRED) joins the global community in raising awareness and promoting action for mental health for all.

FRED Nigeria, we believe Mental Health is a necessity; every individual, regardless of age, gender, or background, deserves access to care, support, and understanding. Mental health challenges can affect anyone, and addressing them requires empathy, education, and strong community systems.

Let’s continue the conversation. Let’s choose kindness. Let’s make mental health a universal right.

International Youth Day 2025
Theme: Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond

Today, we celebrate the power of young people not as future leaders, but as the changemakers of right now.
We see it every day: young minds turning challenges into opportunities, dreams into community projects, and ideas into lasting change. From grassroots health initiatives to environmental action, from advocacy for equality to economic empowerment, youth are the heartbeat of sustainable development.

This year’s theme reminds us that global goals only come alive when they meet local realities. And no one understands those realities better than young people living and working in their own communities. With their creativity, energy, and deep community connections, they bridge the gap between policy and practice, bringing the SDGs home.
Because when we empower youth, we accelerate progress and not just for the SDGs, but for the future we all share.
