We talk a lot about protecting children from abuse.
Today let’s talk about protecting them with love.

A child who feels safe at home learns better.
A child who is spoken to with kindness grows stronger.
A child who is hugged, not hit, heals faster.

Parents, guardians, teachers:
Your words are building someone’s future.
Your patience today is shaping a nation tomorrow.

If you are tired, ask for help.
If you are overwhelmed, take a break.
But please don’t break the child to release your pain.

Let’s make this week about raising children, not breaking them.

JUSTICE FOR LINDA | AGE 11 | BENUE

An 11-year-old orphan was accused of stealing ₦1000.
Her punishment was abuse and being tied up.

She was found and rescued in the early hours of today.
She is now safe and under care while investigations continue.

Let’s be honest:
₦1000 is not worth a child’s life.
Anger is not discipline.
And being an orphan is not a license to abuse.

Linda is not a case file. She is a child.
She deserves food, school, love, and protection — not pain.

To every parent, guardian, aunt, uncle:
If you’re overwhelmed, ask for help.
If you see abuse, speak up.
Silence makes us all complicit.

We at Nchebe Kids are monitoring this case.
Linda deserves justice. Linda deserves healing.

I AM SPEAKING TODAY AS A CHILD ADVOCATE.

Her name is Mercy Hajara Mohammed. She is 16 years old.

Mercy is right now fighting for her life in FMC Keffi.
The reports say she was badly injured by the person who was supposed to protect her at home.
She was allegedly denied medical help and locked away.

This is not just "employer and maid" wahala.
This is child abuse. This is torture. This is a crime.

And what breaks me most? Reports say this may not be the first time.
That previous complaints were ignored because of power and position.

To the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Nigeria:
We are watching.
We are asking for immediate suspension, investigation, and public accountability.
Rank should not be a shield for abuse.

To parents and guardians:
If you cannot treat a child with dignity, do not take them into your home.
To neighbors:
If you see something, say something. Silence kills.

To Mercy:
You are not alone. Nigeria is seeing you. We will demand justice for you.

THIS HAPPENED AT IFA MARKET 💔

A woman with a mental disorder went into labour in the market square.
She was there for over 6 hours. Weak. Alone.

When she gave birth, people said:
"Take the baby. Abandon the mother."

Thank God someone said NO.
Someone chose to take BOTH the mother and the baby home for care.

This is what humanity looks like.

BUT THIS SHOULDN’T HAPPEN.
1. Pregnant women with mental illness need care, not stigma
2. No woman should give birth in a market
3. No baby should be targeted for "collection"

TO OUR COMMUNITIES:
Check on vulnerable people around you.
TO GOVERNMENT:
We need better maternal + mental health outreach in markets.
