For the first time, the FDA has approved a CDK 4/6 inhibitor, palbociclib (Ibrance), for hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer and any HER2 status. This comes after the trial showed a 24% progression risk reduction when palbociclib was added to standard hormonal and anti-HER2 therapies.

Survivorship is often spoken about like a finish line.

But for many women, survivorship is ongoing.

It can look like follow-up appointments, rebuilding confidence, navigating side effects, making preventive decisions, or learning how to move through life differently than before.

And it does not look the same for everyone.

For some, survivorship begins after treatment. For others, it begins the moment they learn they carry a BRCA mutation.

Every version is valid. 💗

A few weeks ago, we pointed this out to some advocates, especially when a brand ambassador of this festival is also a cancer survivor subtly promoting to***co.

There's no end to the industry tactics.

We were at the Emergency Oncology ward of the National hospital, Abuja to commemorate the National Cancer Survivors Day.

What started out as a regular event grew into an experience that will stay with us. Beyond all the glitz and cheers of the day, certain realities stood out.

We met mostly survivors who were on treatment or newly diagnosed. Most surprising was that Some patients still take treatment without hope or faith for better outcomes. Seeing survivors lit up their faith. We became the gifts they will always remember.

"You survived! So, I can survive too?"

We saw some indigent patients who were lodged at the hospital basement to access care. Whole families slept in the open because of accomodation and financial constraints. A constant reminder that so much work is still left to be done in this sector.

They needed finances, care items, most importantly; hope. By the time we left, a cloud seem to have lifted and replaced by warm smiles.

Thank you so much to our anonymous donor and our partner Paula Aniobi for making this possible.

Sunday is National Cancer Survivors Day. We are excited to share hope in our own little way with our partner Paula Aniobi .

Our theme: HOPE FOR THE ROAD depicts how rough the cancer journey could be but assures us that every little support fuels our steps.

We will be visiting cancer patients and at the emergency ward of the hospital with care packages that carry the sounds of celebration beyond the walls of hospital. As we dance and party in gratitude, No one should be left behind.

You can support us in any way you can.

May was No To***co Day and we were on the streets of Abuja to interact with residents on the dangers of smoking. It was another opportunity to create awareness on the dangers of smoking to***co especially in among adults.

The theme of the day was: “Unmasking the appeal - Countering ni****ne and to***co addiction underscores to***co industry tactics to use sleek packaging, flavors and digital advertising to push harmful products such as E-ci******es, ni****ne pouches, vapes etc into the market.

🎯We are asking the relevant authorities to strengthen to***co control policies in Nigeria.
🎯We expect Parents and schools to be vigilant and educate young people to reduce exposure of young people.
🎯We are asking young people as well to take charge of their lives and make the right choices.

***coDay

The to***co industry is constantly reinventing its tactics to hook a new generation of consumers.

From sweet and fruity flavors to eye-catching packaging, celebrity endorsements, music events, and social media promotions, these products are deliberately designed to appeal to young people.

Behind the marketing lies a familiar strategy: create curiosity, drive experimentation, and build lifelong addiction while resisting policies that protect public health.

This ***coDay, we call on governments, communities, parents, and advocates to stand united against deceptive to***co industry tactics and protect young people from ni****ne addiction.

The next generation deserves a future free from to***co industry manipulation.

Today, Gloria's Cancer Foundation - GCF joins the rest of the world to commemorate the ***coDay on

Theme: Unmasking the appeal.

Over 8m people are lost annually to to***co related diseases via direct and second hand smoking. To***co Industry keeps targeting young people with new flavours and sleeky designs.

To***co is a grade one carcinogen and is complicit as a risk factor for many chronic conditions. Yet, many young people in Nigeria still have access to single sticks, minimally taxes ci******es. How do we protect our young people?

As a youth focused group, we visited the sports arena at Primus Super Speciality Hospital Karu New Extension Fct, Aduja.
We interacted with people and created awareness.

Our message is simple:
