PRESS RELEASE

*ENOUGH OF EXCUSES – ANAMBRA YOUTHS DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY*

*2025 ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNORSHIP DEBATE (2nd Edition)*

MANDATORY FOR ALL CANDIDATES TO ATTEND
(RESCHEDULED: SUNDAY, 2ND NOVEMBER 2025)

The Nigerian Youth Decide (NYD) and Diamond Youth Transformation Initiative (DYTI), Anambra State, in collaboration with Anambra Youth Coalitions, hereby issue a firm statement regarding the postponed 2025 Anambra Governorship Debate (2nd Edition).

The debate was earlier scheduled for 26th October 2025, but due to the visible lack of preparedness and nonchalant attitude of some governorship candidates, it has been rescheduled for Sunday, 2nd November 2025.

This one-week grace is not a favour — it is a final opportunity for candidates to prove they are ready to face the people.

NO EXCUSES — ACCOUNTABILITY IS A MUST

Attendance is mandatory.
Any candidate who fails to appear will be considered afraid, unprepared, and disconnected from the youth and people of Anambra State.

The debate is not a campaign rally; it is a test of vision, courage, and sincerity — and the youths will judge accordingly.

ANAMBRA YOUTHS: THE VOICE OF A NEW ERA

Anambra youths are not spectators.
We are the majority of registered voters, the energy behind every campaign, and the voice of a new era.

We will not support leaders who hide from accountability or shy away from direct engagement.

The 2025 Anambra Governorship Debate is a defining moment.
Candidates who avoid it should not expect the support of the same youth they refused to face.

Signed:

Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Nwachukwu

NYD Courtesy Visit to the Honourable Minister of Youth, Sports and Development

PRESS RELEASE

On Thursday, 11th September 2025, at 1:00 PM, the Nigerian Youth Decide (NYD), in collaboration with the Diamond Youth Transformation Initiative (DYTI), paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Youth, Sports and Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, at the Ministry’s conference room.

Representing NYD, Amb. Uchechuku Ekpere Poul highlighted the organisation’s vision, achievements, and impactful initiatives, including the Boy Child Foundation project. He stressed the movement’s commitment to youth inclusiveness in nation-building and requested the Ministry’s collaboration towards the upcoming National Youth Conference and Training Summit in December.

In his remarks, Hon. Comrade Ayodele Olawande conveyed Mr. President’s goodwill, stating that His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had reviewed NYD’s profile and expressed satisfaction with its work. The Minister recalled attending an NYD event in Enugu in 2016, praising the consistency and impact of the group. He further urged NYD and DYTI to formally write to the Ministry so they can be integrated into government programmes for youth development.

The Minister also took the delegation to the Ministry’s Emergency Response Room, where cases of abuse and crimes against youth are handled, reaffirming the government’s dedication to protecting and empowering young people.

The visit ended on a positive note, marking a renewed collaboration between NYD/DYTI and the Federal Government towards advancing youth empowerment, sports development, and nation-building.

*The live conversation on the International Day of the Boy Child!*
*Channel:* NTAi (DSTV Channel 251 & GOTV Channel 124)

With
*Guest:* Amb. Uchechukwu Ekpere Paul, CEO of Boy Child Advancement and Protection Foundation (BCAPF) - a renowned expert in boy-child mentorship and development.

```Where he explains that upbringing of the boy child in our society today is faulty and called the attention of stakeholders to look into the need of the boys for better society. He further explain the stages of boy child development that parents , stakeholders must intentionally pay attention, to help boys developed into well responsible men as the theme of this year 2025 implies"Building Boys for Self Esteem"
• How boys are nurtured directly affects who they will grow into as men.
• How boys are designed often requires a different approach from what we would take with girls, if they are to find their way and mature into noble men.
There is a lot that goes into the makeup of a boy: physiology, genetics,culture, emotions, spirituality.
Note:All children are divine gifts. Boys are no exception.
As we celebrate international Day of Boy Child this year 2025 theme implies, "building self esteem into our boy child." Certainly, there are principles we can apply to the challenge of developing boys into men, but it will take certain amount of energy, intentional and creative approach to do it well.
Our job as parents, stakeholders is to help our boys move from one stage to of development the next. It’s important to understand that what a boy gets, or doesn’t get, at one stage of his development will directly affect how well he will transit to the next stage. This is the reason that so many men struggle relationally, emotionally, and spiritually. It is not a lack of intelligence or morality. It’s the effects of having not reached key developmental milestones; of being rushed through one stage to another; or simply skipping entire stages altogeth
