Education is the first step for people to gain the knowledge, critical thinking, empowerment and skills they need to make this world a better place, the importance of education can never be overemphasised as knowledge is the adorement and beautification of the soul.
Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to anotherâ (G.K. Chesterton)
For the world to be safe from all form of atrocities, equal education should be given to all members of the societies, be it people with disability or girl child .
No any segment of the society should be left out in terms of sound and solid education, Disability or gender shouldn't be a barrier, we call every individuals, sakeholders to ensure education for all as that is the key to success
It has been said " An investment in knowledge pays the best interestâ (Benjamin Frankilin).
As the World commemorate the International education day today 24th January ,2021, we advocate for the full inclusion of the people and students with disability towardss achieving quality education.
The effort of government towards developing the community of people with" Special needs" needs to be intensified more especially on the full implementation of the Disability Bill , Provision of conformable accommodation at various schools , Provision of resource centers , alongside securing scholarship , empowerment and employment opportunities for people with special needs.
The parent are the backborn of their chidrens' success, the cases of discrimination towards people with special need" in the Country is highly alarming. Such discrimination demoralise the children and endanger their potentials as some may be exposed to street begging and other acts that could barricade them from having a better future.
Parents need to work together as a single entity under the umbrella of community services and philantropism to solve this puzzle of discrimination that jeopardize the bright future of our dear Nation.
Non government organizations have achieved great milestones in promoting and ensuring that people with special needs receive all the due rights they deserved.
As we commemorate the world international Education day ,We call on NGOs to synergize and harness both human and material resources together through pratical and pragmatic means in curtailing problem of prejudice and discrimination against people with disability .
Considering education in African and Nigerian socieies, , it is crystal clear that the majority of drop out and children without education are people with disability and less privilege.
We all have positive influence of making the society better, The Alpha problem of the society towards people with special need is stigmatization and discrimination.
More especiallyof the negative notions of the societal members towards people with people with disabilities, they are disables but their thinking faculties are intact as such they deserve the best..
All hands need to be on deck to achieve a better and inclusive Biosphere.
