SUMMARY REPORT: POST-IYD GENERAL MEETING (AUGUST 2026 EDITION)
1. Call to Order and Opening
The August 2026 General Meeting commenced in high spirits with the Youth Leader, Comrade Clement Clement, calling the congress to order. The session officially opened with an uplifting period of praise and worship, followed by the solemn recitation of the Community Anthem, setting a focused and patriotic tone for the business of the day.
2. Key Deliberations and Business of the Day
The congress engaged in impactful, life-transforming deliberations that left members thoroughly satisfied. Key proceedings included:
Youth Leader’s Remarks: Strategic address outlining key concern areas that will drive the day deliberation and appreciate youth members for their commitment.
Secretariat Updates: Presentation of apologies and the reading/adoption of the previous meeting's minutes.
IYD 2026 Partial Report: The Deputy Youth Ambassador, Amb. Edidiong Akpan, presented an interim report on the recently concluded International Youth Day (IYD) 2026 celebrations. A comprehensive final report was promised for the September meeting.
3. Celebrations and Goodwill Messages
August Birthday Celebration: Congress joyfully celebrated all August celebrants, moderated by Comrade Uyime Anietie. The Youth Leader, Comrade Clement Clement, doubled as the lead celebrant.
Stakeholder Contributions: Strategic remarks and inspiring guidance were delivered by key leaders, including the youngest Patron of the Akwa Ibom Community, Comrade Josiah Emmanuel, Comrade Idoreyin Brooks, and the Secretary-General who is the immediate past Youth Leader, Comrade Christopher Udoh. Following the meeting, Comrade Udoh generously refreshed members with 1 quantum of Ubaba around.
4. New Membership and Adjournment
New members were formally received and integrated into the congress. The meeting concluded on a highly positive note, closing with prayers for continued unity, progress, and a stronger collective impact ahead of the September edition.
