At OCID intentionality drives our impact, especially within our health and wellbeing thematic.
In commemoration of World Health Day on the 18th April we partnered with Shalom Health Foundation to successfully implement a Free Medical Outreach in Sauka Community, Abuja. A strategic intervention aimed at bridging the gap in accessing basic healthcare services, this outreach was designed not just as an event, but as a response to a real and pressing need. Many individuals in the community received medical attention following a significant gap in accessing healthcare of such thereby reaffirming the importance of taking healthcare directly to the people.
Our interventions included:
• Medical consultations
• Blood pressure and vital checks
• Malaria testing and treatment
• Infectious disease screening
• Distribution of essential medications
• Breast cancer awareness and self-examination education
Beyond treatment, we prioritized prevention and education, equipping community members with knowledge to make informed health decisions, understand early warning signs, and adopt healthier practices.
Impact:
Hundreds of individuals were reached medically, improving awareness, enabling early detection of undermined symptoms and increasing access to essential healthcare services.
This initiative reinforces our commitment to community centered solutions and sustainable health interventions.
At OCID, we believe healthcare must be accessible to all not a privilege, but a right.
