YALA UNITED OFFICIAL UNVEILING 2026
We have sampled opinions from different members and stakeholders concerning the official unveiling of YALA UNITED, and we strongly believe that December 28th, 2026 will be the perfect date for this historic gathering.
Venue: Christ The King Primary School Field, Okpoma.
The reason for choosing December 28th is simple and strategic. It is the festive season and holiday period when many sons and daughters of Yala-speaking communities will already be at home with their families. Initially, September was considered, but many people may not be able to take leave from work in September and still travel home again in December for Christmas celebrations.
This unveiling is expected to be one of the biggest gatherings of Yala-speaking people in recent history.
The event will host:
Traditional rulers and chiefs from various Yala-speaking communities.
Great sons and daughters of Yala from across Nigeria and the diaspora.
Community leaders, professionals, business people, youths, and stakeholders.
There are also suggestions to officially invite the Governor and Deputy Governor of Cross River State.
During the event, YALA UNITED will officially decorate:
Grand Patrons and Grand Matrons
Patrons and Matrons
State and Country Chairmen
City Coordinators
Community and Autonomous Village Coordinators
There will also be a special YALA PEACE AMBASSADORS DECORATION SESSION.
This session will honor distinguished men and women from different communities who have dedicated their lives to promoting peace, unity, reconciliation, and harmony within their communities and Yala as a whole.
Each community will nominate one respected individual — male or female — who has consistently stood for peace, community development, and the progress of Yala people. These individuals will be publicly recognized and decorated as YALA PEACE AMBASSADORS during the unveiling ceremony.
Starting from July, there will be official visitation and invitation tours to meet distinguished sons and daughters of Yala-speaking communities both within and outside Nigeria.
This is a movement with purpose, structure, and vision.
The unveiling ceremony will also feature:
Performances by Yala comedians and music artists
Traditional dance displays representing major Yala-speaking communities
Keynote speakers and special guest speakers
Royal blessings from traditional institutions
Discussions on issues concerning Yala heritage, culture, unity, and identity, with peaceful resolutions and collective direction for the future
To create awareness and excitement, YALA UNITED billboards will be mounted from different entrances into Yala to warmly welcome our sons and daughters back home.
“Let’s Make Yala Great Again.”
Security and peaceful coordination are already being discussed with relevant security agencies to ensure a safe and successful event for everyone attending.
