Meet Hussaina Anthony Enna from Alogani Community, Nasarawa Eggon LGA, Nasarawa State.

After years of low yields and uncertainty, Hussaina joined One Acre Fund, gaining access to quality farm inputs on credit, practical agricultural training, and ongoing field support.

Today, she's celebrating a bumper harvest, improved food security, additional income from surplus produce, and renewed confidence in farming.

Her story shows what's possible when women farmers have access to the right tools, knowledge, and support.

"This harvest has brought relief to my family" she says.

July was a landmark month for One Acre Fund Nigeria.

As we celebrated 20 years of impact across Africa, we launched our largest-ever Trees Distribution campaign in Nigeria.

Across Nasarawa, Niger, and Bauchi States, we officially flagged off the distribution of 22 million free tree seedlings to more than 800,000 smallholder farmers—our most ambitious tree distribution campaign to date and a major investment in climate resilience, healthier soils, and sustainable livelihoods.

Throughout the month, we partnered with government officials, traditional leaders, development partners, and farming communities to advance climate-smart agriculture, restore ecosystems, and help build a more food-secure future.

We recently officially flagged-off our input distribution in Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau States! It was incredible to bring together government officials, traditional leaders, farmers, and partners—all united for a successful planting season.

Through our Credit Program, we're proud to serve nearly 89,000 farmers across Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Kwara States by distributing over 9,000 metric tonnes of essential farm inputs in 2026.

By delivering quality inputs on time, we're empowering farming families to boost productivity, enhance food security, and build stronger, more resilient livelihoods.

Together, we're planting the seeds for a productive season and a brighter future for smallholder farmers across Nigeria!

For farmers like Hussaina Anthony in Nasarawa State, planting trees is about more than improving the landscape; it's about protecting her farm, improving soil health, and creating a more secure future for her family.

Many farmers in Nigeria are making similar investments in climate resilience through our Trees Program. As of May 2026, more than 612,000 farmers have enrolled, 17.9 million nursery sockets have been filled, and 9.9 million seedlings have already germinated.

Together, farmers are restoring degraded land, strengthening their livelihoods, and helping to build a greener, more resilient future, one tree at a time.

Happy World Environment Day!

For hundreds of thousands of farming families across Nigeria, planting a tree is an investment in the future—a future with healthier soils, more productive farms, and greater resilience to climate change.

This year, more than 700,000 farmers across Bauchi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau States will receive 19.6 million free tree seedlings through our Agroforestry Program. These trees will help restore degraded land, improve biodiversity, protect natural resources, and support sustainable livelihoods for generations to come.
