TOPIC: SECRET OF PROFITABLE LABOUR

TEXT: LAMENTATIONS 2:6
"And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest" (LAMENTATIONS 2:6).

When May 1 was first marked as International Labour Day in 1889, the main objective was to honour the dignity of work. Workmen and their engineers and all those involved in productive enterprise were to be celebrated for their priceless contribution to efforts at improving the lot of humanity. But alas, whenever wars and natural disasters occurred, they destroyed the monumental projects of labour, to the horror of their creators.

Jerusalem, the ancient capital of Israel, suffered such devastation in 586 BC, when invading hordes of the Babylonian Army turned its architectural beauty into ashes and pillaged its sacred and iconic temple that took many years and mammoth labour to erect. It was a dark moment in the history of the Jewish nation. Prophet Jeremiah said the gates of the city were sunk into the ground, suggesting complete collapse. The people, their prophets and elders, he said, were all subdued into silence and weeping.

Although God honours beneficial labour, He warns that unless man involves Him in his work, he would be doing it in vain. The workmen putting up the Tower of Babel tasted that pill because they alienated the Lord. Jerusalem, in spite of its global status as a centre of worship, was also at the receiving end of divine judgment. The ravaging of the city came as a result of the sins of idolatry, pride and rejection of the Lord.

Therefore, as the world celebrates International Labour Day, mankind should remember that for the work of our hands to last and be blessed by God, He must be acknowledged as the ultimate workman, whose perfect expertise cannot be put in the margins. His command on work ethics and the need to shun cheating and fraud, must be observed. Our labour can become more profitable to God, ourselves and humanity when we put God in the equation and discharge our duties and responsibilities, not with eye service or as men pleasers, but in line with best practices and godly principles.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Our labour becomes more profitable when aligned with divine principle.
As you align with divine principle, may the work of you hands be productive in Jesus name. Welcome to May beloved.

This verse beautifully reminds us of our divine purpose. We are God’s workmanship, His masterpiece, crafted with care and intentionality. Our lives are not random; we are created in Christ for a higher calling. The good works mentioned are not self-created, they have already been prepared by God, designed specifically for us to walk in.
This means that everything in our lives, every opportunity, every challenge, has been woven into a greater plan. Our purpose is to align with His will and live out those good works. It’s not about striving to earn God's love; it’s about stepping into the path He’s already paved for us, trusting that His plan is perfect.

This is a call to intentional living. It shows us that every part of our lives, our thoughts, actions, words, and choices can either serve sin or serve God. We are not meant to live carelessly, but consciously offer ourselves to God as people who have been made new.
Being “alive from the dead” speaks of transformation. Through Christ, your past no longer defines you. You now have the power to choose righteousness, to use your life as a vessel for good, love, and purpose.
Each day is an opportunity to present yourself to God: to let your hands do good, your words speak life, and your heart reflects His nature. Hallelujah

Mark 16:6 captures a moment where heaven interrupts human fear. The women came to the tomb expecting death, silence, and finality, but instead, they encountered a message that would change everything: “Be not afraid… He is risen."
God understands that before we can receive truth, our hearts must be settled. Fear clouds our vision, but faith clears it. Even in our most confusing seasons, God meets us gently, calming us before revealing His purpose.
The Reality of Pain Acknowledged
The angel did not ignore what happened: “Jesus… which was crucified.”
God never pretends pain didn’t exist. The cross was real. The suffering was real. In the same way, your struggles, disappointments, and heartbreak are not dismissed by God. He sees them fully.
But the Story Didn’t End There
The most powerful shift in the verse comes next: “He is risen; He is not here.”
What looked like the end was only a transition. The grave could not hold Him. This is the foundation of Christian hope
that God has power over every “final” situation. What feels buried in your life, dreams, joy, peace can be brought back to life by Him.
God doesn’t just ask for blind faith, He points to evidence. The empty tomb is proof that His word is true. It reminds us to look back at what God has already done, so we can trust Him with what lies ahead.
God speaks into our everyday life:
When fear rises, remember: God’s first word is peace.
When life feels broken, remember: God is not finished yet.
When hope seems gone, remember: resurrection is still God’s specialty.
Pray that in moments when fear tries to take over, remind me that You are alive and present. Help me to trust that no situation is beyond Your power. Strengthen my faith to believe in Your resurrection power working in my life daily.
Happy resurrection Sunday

A lamp does not flood the whole road with brightness, it only illuminated a few steps ahead. This means God’s Word doesn’t always reveal your entire future at once. Instead, it gives you just enough guidance for the next step. It teaches you to trust God daily.
God’s Word helps you make decisions in the present moment, what to do, what to avoid, how to respond. It keeps you from stumbling in situations that may seem confusing or uncertain.
Even when the future looks unclear, His Word keeps you moving in the right direction.
There will be seasons when you wish you could see everything ahead, every answer, every outcome. But God often chooses to guide you step by step so that your faith grows deeper and your dependence on Him becomes stronger.
His Word brings clarity when life feels confusing
Offers wisdom when you’re unsure,
gives peace when the road feels dark
Even when everything around you feels uncertain, you are never walking in complete darkness because His Word is always lighting the way.
🙏🏽 Prayer
Lord, thank You for being my guide. When I feel unsure or afraid, help me to trust Your Word and follow Your light step by step. Teach me to rely on You daily, knowing that You are leading me in the right path. Amen.

The blood of Jesus Christ is not just a symbol, it is the very essence of redemption and the bridge between humanity and God. In the Old Testament, blood represented life and was central to atonement, where the shedding of blood of animals could cover sin temporarily. But the blood of Christ transforms this understanding completely.
Atonement and Forgiveness: Through His blood, Jesus paid the ultimate price for humanity’s sins once and for all. It cleanses us from guilt, not through ritual or repeated sacrifice, but through the perfect and eternal sacrifice of the Son of God. As 1 John 1:7 says, “the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.” This shows that His blood has power to purify, restore, and reconcile us with God.
Victory Over Evil: The blood of Jesus is a shield against spiritual attacks. In Revelation 12:11, it says believers overcame the enemy “by the blood of the Lamb.” His blood is our defense, our victory cry, and our banner over darkness.
Covenant and Relationship: His blood establishes a new covenant, a living relationship with God. In Luke 22:20, Jesus says, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” It is an invitation to intimacy with God, to live under His grace and guidance, not under condemnation.
Life and Transformation: Blood is life. Through Jesus’ blood, we are given spiritual life, renewal, and the strength to walk in holiness. It marks the start of a new identity, not bound by past mistakes but rooted in His sacrifice.
Hope and Assurance: Whenever fear, shame, or despair come, remembering the blood of Christ reminds us that our salvation, our healing, and our eternal future are secured. It is a promise, a seal of God’s unwavering love, and the foundation of Christian hope.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, I thank You for the power of Your blood. May it cleanse me from all sin, protect me from every attack, and transform my life. Help me live in the freedom and victory Your blood provides, walking daily in Your grace and love. Amen.
Welcome to April.
