On this International Women’s Day, the Juritrust Centre for Socio-Legal Research and Documentation honours the remarkable contributions of women across the legal profession and the broader justice sector who continue to play a vital role in advancing justice and upholding the rule of law. As we celebrate these achievements, we also recognise that true equity requires structural change; thus, we affirm our support for critical legislative reforms, most notably the Constitutional Amendment Bill for Special Seats for Women in the National Assembly. Increasing female representation in our legislative chambers is a fundamental step toward ensuring our laws reflect the diverse perspectives of all Nigerians, and we remain committed to supporting the policy reforms necessary to build a more just and equitable society. Happy International Women’s Day.

On this International Women’s Day, we honour the remarkable contributions of women across the legal profession and the broader justice sector. From the courtroom to academia, public service, civil society, and policy reform, women continue to play a vital role in advancing justice, strengthening institutions, and upholding the rule of law. As we mark International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of women in law and recognise their ongoing contributions to building a more just and equitable society. This is why we applaud the initiative by the NASS to create special seats for women in legislative chambers.

Happy International Women’s Day.

Can a lawyer truly "set the records straight" by betraying a client? This case shows that "cross-carpeting" like a politician is a quick way for a lawyer to get suspended.
