Welcome to May,

A new month. A new page. A new chance to show up for the children who need us most. 🌿

May is here, and with it comes renewed purpose, because every day we advocate, educate, and act is a day a child moves closer to the future they deserve.

To every child in an IDP camp clutching a dream they were told doesn’t belong to them, we see you. We’re coming.

HAPPY NEW MONTH AND HAPPY WORKER’S DAY

A book in every child’s hand, a future full of possibilities Reading supports cognitive development, critical thinking, and comprehension from a young age.

Books encourage children to imagine, create and think beyond their environment.

Together, we can inspire a generation of readers, thinkers, and leaders.

Happy World Book Day from Arm the Child Foundation

In Nigeria, one teacher is managing up to 46 children. 📚

Let that sink in. The UNESCO recommended ratio is 1:25. Nigeria is at 1:46, and in some states, it goes beyond 1:60.

That is not a classroom. That is a crowd. And for children in IDP camps? It is even worse. Volunteer teachers managing 60, 80, sometimes 100 children at once, with no materials, no training, and no support.

1.3 million qualified teachers are still needed in Nigerian primary schools. We train 20,000 a year against a need of 100,000. We are not closing the gap. We are watching it widen.

Let’s not look away. This is the direct consequence of a system that has decided some children’s education can wait

No child should have to weigh “will I be safe today?” before picking up a school bag. Yet for millions of internally displaced children across Nigeria, that is the reality.

At ARM the Child Foundation, we refuse to accept it. Swipe to understand why. 👉

Education isn’t charity. It’s a right.

And until every Nigerian child can exercise that right; we have work to do.

📚 ARM the Child Foundation is showing up for the children the system left behind.

A new month. A renewed commitment. 🌈

April is here and so are we; showing up for every child who deserves a seat in the classroom, a safe path forward and a future as bright as they are.

Every child belongs where the light leads. ✨

Let’s make this month count.

Did you know that every $1 invested in a girl’s education returns up to 21x — to her family, her community, and her nation? 📈

Yet millions of girls in Nigeria are still being denied that investment. Through poverty. Through early marriage. Through the belief that she is not worth it.

We need to move from commitment to action. From the dialogues, panels and policy into implementation. The future of Nigeria cannot be separated from girls’ education.

Have you heard? Nigeria is shifting from exam-based progression to a continuous, data-driven education system.

But what are the assurances?

The success of this reform depends on infrastructure, accountability and inclusion, especially for the millions of children currently out of school.

At ARM The Child Foundation, we are committed to advancing conversations and actions that ensure no child is left behind.

Swipe through to see our thoughts on this.

What are your thoughts on this shift?

Every girl who sits in a classroom is a community being transformed. Every girl kept out of one is a future being stolen.

Education is not a privilege, it is a right. And in Nigeria, millions of girls are still being denied it.

When a girl is educated, she earns more, marries later, raises healthier children and lifts everyone around her.

The data is clear. The need is urgent. The time to act is now.

At ARM the Child Foundation, we are not waiting for change, we are building it. One girl, one classroom, one community at a time.

Some wounds don’t heal with medicine.

They heal with rest, care, and being seen. 💛

On International Women’s Day, ARM the Child Foundation partnered with Mellon Traditional Spa to create exactly that; Her Healing Space a space where women from the new Kuchingoro IDP camps could pause, breathe and come back to themselves.

A woman who tends to herself is not being indulgent. She is investing in her family, her community, and her future.

These women deserve softness. They deserve care. They deserve to know that they matter not just as mothers, survivors, or caregivers, but as women.

We are deeply grateful to our sponsors who showed up with open hands and open hearts, free of charge and made this day possible.

Thank you , & — you didn’t just offer a service, you offered dignity. 🙏🏽

And to our partner - thank you for opening your doors and your hearts to women who deserved a moment of peace.

A woman who takes care of herself is an asset to everyone around her. Don’t forget that.
