Visionary African Women Summit (VAWS) is an annual Pan African Women's Summit focused on empowering, networking, mentoring, supporting, and advancing the roles of women in various fields of endeavor.

Happy Birthday to our incredible Project Coordinator, Angella Wood!

Some people join a vision, and some people become part of the vision. Angela, you have become part of the VAWS story.

For almost five years, you have stood with us through the planning, the pressure, the late nights, the countless conversations, the last-minute changes and everything that comes with building something meaningful.

Through it all, one thing has remained constant, your dedication.

You are energetic. You are hardworking. You are loyal. You are committed. And when there is work to be done, you don't need to be reminded ten times. You simply get to it.

There are people whose contribution you can easily measure, and there are people whose presence makes the journey itself easier. You are one of those people.

It feels surreal that we are getting ready to host the 2026 Global Visionary Leadership Summit in Nairobi, Kenya. 🇰🇪

Our sister platform, the Global Visionary Leadership Summit is intentionally designed as an exclusive, enclosed leadership experience.

We deliberately keep the number of delegates small because we are not interested in filling a hall just for the numbers.

We want meaningful conversations.

We want leaders to sit together, ask the difficult questions, share their experiences, talk about the realities of leadership, and learn from people who have already walked the path.

Thank you so much, Joyce Idun for an insightful session on “Beauty or Risk: The Truth About Healthy Skincare.”

It has truly been an insightful and impactful session, and I believe we have all learned so much.

We learned about the importance of melanin, the role of adequate sleep, managing stress, eating right, and taking proper care of our skin to achieve and maintain healthy, strong, and beautiful skin.

We also learned that having a healthy skincare routine does not have to be complicated. The simple steps of cleansing, moisturizing, and using sunscreen can go a long way in keeping our skin healthy and protected.

On behalf of Visionary African Women, we would like to say a very big thank you to you, Joyce, for taking the time to share your knowledge and expertise with us. We truly appreciate your time, your insights, and the value you have added to our community.

Dear Visionary African Women,

It’s a new week, and I want to remind you of something simple: take care of yourself.

You do not have to figure everything out at once. Take life one step at a time. Work towards your dreams, but do not allow the pressure of becoming everything you desire to make you forget to live, breathe, rest and appreciate where you are today.

Do what is expected of you. Be intentional. Be productive. Keep showing up.

Never underestimate the little things you do every day. Those small, consistent actions may eventually become the biggest game changers in your life.

Give yourself permission to grow at your own pace. You are not behind. Your journey is yours.

Most importantly, only those who are alive can accomplish their dreams. So protect your peace, take care of your body, guard your mind and keep moving.

This week, don't pressure yourself to have it all figured out. Just take the next right step. Then another.
