A New Era for Nigerian Students: Hope, Access and Progress!

Earlier today, the leadership of the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS), led by our vibrant and visionary President, Comrade Abubakar Gumel, paid a landmark courtesy visit to the Managing Director/CEO of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, at the Fund’s national headquarters in Abuja.

This strategic visit was aimed at showing solidarity, expressing the gratitude of Nigerian students, and encouraging the management of NELFUND for the life-changing initiative that is already restoring hope in millions of young people across the country.

In his remarks, Comrade Abubakar Gumel stated:

“On behalf of the entire student community across the 19 Northern states and Nigeria at large, we are here to say thank you — first to our President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for establishing NELFUND, and secondly to you, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, for driving the vision with such passion, transparency, and purpose. Nigerian students are grateful. We are hopeful. And we stand with you to ensure this mission reaches every deserving student.”

In response, the MD/CEO of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, warmly welcomed the NANNS delegation and shared his appreciation, saying:

“Your visit means a lot to us. NELFUND was created for you — the students. We are committed to making education accessible and breaking the financial barriers that stop dreams. With your support and the trust of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we will keep working to expand our reach and impact.”

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the entire management and staff of NELFUND for their coordinated efforts in rolling out this impactful initiative with professionalism and integrity.

🎓 With NELFUND, education is no longer just a dream — it is a reachable goal for every Nigerian student.

To all our fellow students across the North and beyond:
👉 The future is brighter.
👉 You are not alone.
👉 Let us spread the message, access the opportunity, and support the process.

Hope is here. Help is real. NELFUND is working.
