KADUNA TAX AGENCY CHAIR RECEIVES ASSOCIATION OF NON-INDIGENES SUPPORT GROUP FOR GOVERNOR UBA SANI, CONFERRED WITH GRAND PATRONSHIP
The Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Comrade Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, received a delegation from the Association of Non-Indigenes Support Group for Governor Uba Sani on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening community-based tax sensitisation, promoting sub-national fiscal reforms, and fostering inclusive governance.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Jerry Adams expressed appreciation for the honour, noting that he accepted the patronage in recognition of the important role non-indigenes play in Kaduna State’s socio-economic development and reaffirming the state's commitment to inclusive governance.
Speaking on the state's fiscal performance, the Executive Chairman disclosed that monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) had increased from an average of ₦4 billion in 2023 to ₦9 billion monthly, with plans to achieve ₦20 billion monthly in the future. He attributed the growth to improved taxpayer confidence resulting from visible government investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social interventions, while reiterating KADIRS’ commitment to fair and strategic tax administration that promotes compliance without harassment.
The delegation was led by Abdulsamad Chima Amadi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Support Groups, alongside the Co-Convener of the association, Mr. Johnny Nwankwere, and was received alongside members of the KADIRS management team.
Earlier in his remarks during the visit, Mr. Nwankwere formally conferred the title of Grand Patron of the association on Comrade Jerry Adams and presented him with an official letter of confirmation and the association’s flag. He described the KADIRS Chairman as a transformative leader whose reforms have significantly reduced multiple taxation and tax-related harassment, while also highlighting the association’s commitment to supporting the state's revenue objectives and grassroots mobilisation efforts across Kaduna State.
The delegation also commended Governor Senator Uba Sani for his developmental achievements, particularly the ongoing construction of vocational training centres in Soba, Rigachikun, and Samaru Kataf, and promised to mobilize massive votes for His Excellency Governor Uba Sani.
