ABIRIBA COMMUNAL IMPROVEMENT UNION AND OKADA RIDERS UNION ABIRIBA, REACHES AN UNDERSTANDING ON PRICE REGULATIONS AND ENFORCEMENT.

There has been an understanding and an agrement between the Abiriba Communal Improvement Union and the Okada riders Union in Abiriba over the high cost of internal transportation within Abiriba.

In a meeting held at Erinma Hall between the leadership of the two groups, the General President of ACIU, Chief Yuccee Uwah, expressed dissatisfaction over what he termed unhealthy exploitation of nde Abiriba by okada riders especially during yuletide. He implored the motorcycle union to be humane in their charges as their actions has brought pain to the people which led to the public outcry against them.

In his contribution, the 1st vice president of ACIU, Rtn George Ezikpe Okiyi, appreciated the leadership of the Okada union for Swiftly responding to the invitation and called for a unified bike fare within Abiriba, and to roundabout towards oronni axis. After much deliberations, the following were agreed:

1. Abiriba Town to Roundabout and environs N500 (five hundred naira)
2. Withing Abiriba town: N300 (three hundred naira)
3. Every Okada rider in Abiriba must henceforth wear an identification apron to be provided by ACIU.
4. Keke drivers and those that will come from outside Abiriba with their okada and keke must register and get their identification apron before plying in Abiriba.
5. A combined Taskforce has been put in place and empowered to impound any defaulting motorcycle or keke.
6. Bikes that carries cement, but wishes to change field this yuletide period must register and get the identification apron too.

While responding, the leaders of the okada union, Mr Eleanya Kalu, thanked the ACIU for taking out time to consult them instead of imposing their decision on them. They affirmed their readiness to work with the Taskforce to enforce and ensure strict compliance with the agreement.

The meeting came to an end with a public reading of the resolution, and verbal affirmation and endorsement of the resolution by the parties concerned.

Abiriba on the move in a grandstyle

Congratulations! Congratulations!! Congratulations!!!.

As the slogan goes, Abiriba must be great again, howbeit holistically.

The Loveworld nation (Christ Embassy Church) has officially recognised Abiriba as one of the spoken dialect (language) of the world as it targets to publish or translate the most widely read devotional, Rhapsody of Realities into every spoken language of the world via its agent, Translation Networks international (TNI).

This feat was achieved in the ongoing (10th - 16th November 2025) International Pastors and Partners conference where the translator, an Abiriba son, Bro Dede Nwojo, was fully recognised and given the superlative reception/treatment given to the global translators.

Hence, TNI is sending delegates to Abiriba as its culture when a new language is unveiled to celebrate that community. Abiriba community in Loveworld nation advised the TNI delegates to come during our festive period or event to showcase our cultural heritage. Therefore, the Abiriba women Day celebration and coronation was chosen.TNI felicitates with Abiriba kingdom as it celebrates the event.

Ode to Abiriba — The Pride and Fountain of Strength

O Abiriba, jewel upon the emerald hills,
Cradled beneath the flourishing Archi tree,
Where birds of many colors sing of freedom,
And the morning dew carries the scent of home.

Your valleys breathe with thirty-six rivers and streams,
Brooks that dance from the womb of your valleys,
Encircled by hills, your sacred fortress,
Where spirits once guarded the soul of your people.

Before the cross came, the gods stood watch—
Kamalu Ozuaelu, Kamalu Nde Ebe, Otisi Binyiom—
Custodians of truth, keepers of moral flame,
Guiding the hearts of men before the dawn of faith.

O Abiriba, your culture is our diadem,
Your heritage our banner among nations.
From your red earth rose artisans and oracles,
Craftsmen whose hands shaped dignity from dust.

When the century turned to 1905,
Your brave sons faced the blue fury of the ocean,
Crossing deep waters to the islands of Guinea,
First from Africa’s hinterland to meet the world—
Pioneers of mercantile destiny,
Dreamers who carried courage as their compass.

Though your soil denied the yam tendrils rest,
You blessed your children with the will to thrive.
You taught us that wealth begins in wisdom,
That enterprise is the soul’s own harvest.

From Calabar to Port Harcourt we planted sweat,
In Aba, Cotonou, Douala, and Limbe we sowed trade.
Your sons built bridges where there were none,
Turning hardship into heritage,
And resilience into the rhythm of life.

When war laid waste to the East,
You rose like a phoenix from the ashes.
Between 1970 and 1980, your forges sang again,
Rebuilding the broken, healing the humbled,
Restoring pride to a wounded people.

O Abiriba, harbinger of civilization,
Mother of merchants, cradle of courage,
Your polygamous roots birthed nations abroad,
Your unity became the envy of neighbors.

You led the Igbo nation from sorrow to sunrise,
From despair to the dawn of renewal.
You gave order to chaos, and strength to the weak,
You made the defeated remember how to dream.

Your age-grade system—divine in design—
A sacred gift from the God of creation,
When others bowed before man-made gods,
You found the light of Christ Almighty.
And today your children are the salt of the earth,
Scattered like stars across the world—
From Lisbon to America,
Rotterdam to Hamburg,
Australia to China,
Moscow to South Africa,
From the plains of Argentina to Canada’s high hills,
Across the Caribbean to the North Pole’s cold breath—
The name of Abiriba stands radiant and sure.

O Abiriba, Pride of the Hills,
Fountain of Strength and Enterprise,
Your name resounds in markets and memories,
Your legacy glows in every diaspora heart.

May your children never forget your grace,
May your rivers never run dry of song.
For Abiriba is more than a home—
She is a spirit, a covenant, a crown of glory,
Ever shining among nations,
Eternal in the hearts of her sons and daughters.
