*SUMMARY OF THE COURTESY VISIT TO NDLEA OGUN STATE COMMAND*
The Nigeria Cadet Network (CADET-N), Ogun State Command, paid a courtesy visit to the NDLEA Ogun State Command on Thursday, 27th August 2026, with the meeting commencing at 11:25 AM.
The purpose of the visit, as stated by the *Chief of Staff, National Headquarters*, who represented the Commanding Officer, was to explore ways CADET-N could partner with the NDLEA in curbing drug abuse and reducing drug intake in Ogun State, particularly among youths.
The NDLEA Commandant was represented by the Deputy Commander (Narcotics), who emphasized the importance of focusing on drug suppliers in order to reduce demand. The Head of the Sensitization Unit explained how CADET-N could collaborate with the Agency on drug awareness programmes and advised that at least three weeks' notice should be given for NDLEA participation in any CADET-N programme.
The Officer in Charge of Exhibits educated the officers on various illicit drugs and conducted a practical display to help them identify such substances. The ICT Head also advised CADET-N to consider conducting drug-free tests for prospective recruits.
An interactive session was subsequently held, during which both parties exchanged questions, ideas and useful information. The Chief of Staff appreciated the NDLEA officials for their warm reception and valuable contributions.
The visit was considered a significant step towards establishing stronger collaboration between CADET-N and NDLEA in the fight against drug abuse and towards building a safer society.
