Volunteering is sometimes perceived as easy or simply an opportunity to go viral, but there is a lot of work that happens behind the scenes.

From planning outreaches, preparing materials for AAT screenings, budgeting for logistics and gifts, to finding simple and engaging ways to communicate our advocacy messages and capture our audience’s attention, every activity requires time, effort and commitment. There is always work behind what people see.

Happy New Week! 🥳

As we begin another week, let’s remember that inclusion is more than simply giving everyone a seat at the table.

It is about creating environments where every autistic individual, children and adults can participate, learn, communicate, connect, and thrive without having to constantly adapt themselves just to fit in.

Inclusion requires us to rethink our classrooms, communities, systems, and expectations.

Inclusion asks us not only to open the door, but to make sure the space beyond it truly welcomes everyone.

Here’s to a week of creating spaces where every child and adult belongs. 💙
