HAPPY 57TH BIRTHDAY TO A DISTINGUISHED SON OF OKE-ONA EGBA
Today, 25th August 2026, we celebrate an illustrious son of Oke-Ona Egba, Otunba Oluyinka Waheed Nurudeen, the Otunba of Oyotunji African Village, South Carolina, USA.
Otunba Oluyinka Waheed Nurudeen is a proud International Ambassador of African Heritage and Yoruba Culture, whose passion and dedication to the promotion, preservation and global celebration of Yoruba culture and African heritage continue to make a remarkable impact.
Based in the United States, he has distinguished himself as a strong promoter and advocate of Yoruba cultural values, traditions and identity. His efforts have contributed significantly to showcasing the richness of Yoruba culture in Hollywood and American society, helping to create greater awareness and appreciation for our heritage.
Over the years, he has received several prestigious awards and recognitions, including the NAFB Image Award in Houston, Texas, in 2016. He has also been recognized as Aare Omonla Agbasaga Itori Egba and honoured with the Nigerian Cultural Ambassador Award through the Nigeria Chamber of Commerce, USA Chapter.
Adding another significant milestone to his remarkable journey, Otunba Oluyinka Waheed Nurudeen is also set to be installed as the Bobagunwa of Lisa Igbore Egba, further recognizing his contributions, service and commitment to the promotion of Yoruba culture and the advancement of his people.
As he celebrates 57 glorious years, we celebrate a distinguished son whose influence extends beyond borders and whose work continues to connect the Yoruba people, African heritage and the global community.
