Access to Justice, Advocacy & Humanitarian Foundation - AJAHF Our Aim
The question is - what we are concerned about?

AJAHF's mission is to address human suffering resulting from injustice, through facilitation of access to justice, advocacy and humanitarian intervention for vulnerable indigent citizens and promotion of rule of law in Nigeria. About Us
Access for Justice, Advocacy & Humanitarian Intervention Foundation (AJAHF) is a registered non-profit organization with a mission to address human suffering resul

ting from injustice, through facilitation of access to justice for vulnerable indigent citizens and promotion of rule of law in Nigeria. Established in 2009, we strive to be known for addressing injustice and human right abuses, advancing human rights, conflict resolution, supporting prisoners, refugees and IDPs, targeted advocacy, accurate fact-finding and impartial reporting often in partnership with our strategic partners and human rights groups within and outside Nigeria. Our Vision
To positively influence and improve criminal justice system in Nigeria, facilitate access to justice and advocate for victims human rights abuses especially against the indigent and the vulnerable as well as render humanitarian access to IDPs in Nigeria. Our Mission
Our mission is to defend human rights, advocate for improvement in Nigeria criminal justice system, defend the vulnerable from injustice, and deliver humanitarian interventions to victims of abuse & Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Our Objectives
Our cardinal objectives includes the following;
 AJAHF seek to protect and promote human right for everyone especially indigent folks that are most vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.

 We engage with the public to uphold the rule of law and advocate for victims of injustice and abuse as well as work closely with people claiming their rights or defending it.

 We render humanitarian interventions/support to victims of injustice, abuse and conflicts (refugees & Internally Displaced Person [IDPs]) in collaboration with our partners.

 We pressure officials in the corridors of power in Nigeria to respect human right and rule of law as well as lobby Nigeria law makers to develop and implement policies and procedures that improves our criminal justice system, promote/facilitate access to justice by vulnerable & indigent citizens.

 Finally we intentionally cultivate and maintain healthy strategic partnerships with organizations and institutions locally and internally for maximum impact. This refers to what will be accomplished when our strategies are successfully implemented and these includes;

1. Strengthening of areas of institutional weakness: strengthen the operation of key institutions and frameworks in the Nigeria justice system through putting a demand on them to deliver fairness, accessibility and efficiency. Achieve building a consensus that access to justice, fairness and efficiency especially in the criminal justice system are the concern of all citizens and adopting practical and realistic changes that leads to meaningful (criminal) judicial reform.

2. Improving legal procedural efficiency: Implementing policies that facilitate identifying and challenging unfair, inaccessible and inefficient legal procedures. Facilitate the adoption of technology and innovation in delivering justice – including alternatives to traditional justice processes.

3. Addressing biases in the justice system: Confronting and terminating judicial processes that adversely impacts upon individuals and groups based on their status including ethnicity, gender, disability and/or socio-economic status.

4. Minimizing unlawful incarceration: De-congest Nigeria correctional Centres of inmates who are victims of societal abuse and incarcerated with trumped up charges by the power elements in the society. Nigeria prisons are saturated with inmates whose cases have not been heard for the first time in months/years because they have no one to support them neither do they have the financial resources to access justice. AJAHF will continue to seek & obtain justice for the unjustly incarcerated starting from Ebonyi State, Nigeria.

5. Improving the health & welfare of prisoners: Significant number of inmates die from avoidable health challenges amplified by lack of medical treatment, malnutrition, poor sanitary conditions etc. Our medical team comprising mainly of medical professionals conduct regular medical outreach to prisons inmates.

6. Skill Acquisition in prisons: Support and facilitate prisoners to acquire new skills that would minimise their vulnerability to succumb to criminality as a means of livelihood. As much as possible, AJAHF will also facilitate discharged inmates who acquired skills to gain employment or start a trade in the area of the skills they acquired during incarceration.

7. Journalism & Activism: Promote the rule of law and defend human rights by documenting violations, publishing the findings, and besides using this bring perpetrators to justice, we also use it to advocate, campaign and demand for an end to the violations as well as prevent such violations in the future. We also undertaking necessary enlightenment campaigns and citizens sensitization activities in this context.

🚫⚖️ **Right to Dignity of the Human Person – Section 34**

Every human being deserves to live free from fear, abuse, and oppression. Section 34 of our constitution is clear:
No one should be subjected to torture, inhuman treatment, slavery, or forced labor.

Yet across many communities, these violations persist—often in silence.

💬 Imagine being forced to work without pay, or being denied the freedom to walk away from abuse.
💬 Imagine being treated as less than human, simply because of poverty, ignorance, or systemic injustice.

We are here to say: Enough is enough.
Your dignity is not negotiable.
Your rights are not optional.

💪 Let’s raise our voices for those who can’t. Let’s push for accountability, protection, and justice.
📢 If you or someone you know is experiencing any form of inhuman treatment, speak out.
📞 Support is available, and you're not alone.

⚖️ “Justice Is a Right, Not a Privilege” – What Does That Mean to You? 💬

At Access to Justice, Advocacy & Humanitarian Foundation (AJAHF), we believe that justice is not reserved for the wealthy or well-connected—it is a fundamental human right that EVERYONE deserves, regardless of their background, income, or status in society.

Too many voices go unheard. Too many suffer in silence simply because they cannot afford legal representation. That’s where we step in—fighting for the voiceless, one case at a time.

🌍 Let’s talk about it: What does “Justice is a Right, Not a Privilege” mean to YOU?

Is it…
- Ensuring no innocent person is punished due to poverty?
- Giving the marginalized a fair chance in court?
- Protecting the rights of victims who are afraid to speak?

📢 We want to hear from YOU.

How We Help Indigent Citizens Access Justice
🔹 Free Legal Aid & Representation ⚖️👩‍⚖️
