WEPBI successfully hosted a stakeholder engagement for the Pan-African Adolescent Girls Movement, a vital initiative supported by Graça Machel Trust.
The session focused on mobilizing regional support and creating safe, enabling environments that amplify the voices, leadership, and well-being of adolescent girls across Nigeria.

The event marked a major milestone as key stakeholders, including government actors and civil society leaders, committed to supporting and mainstreaming the initiative within their sectors.

We extend our profound gratitude to the Graça Machel Trust and all participating stakeholders for partnering with us to build a safer, more equitable future for the girl child.

True democratic progress is about much more than just elections. It relies on sustainable peace, genuine accountability, and actively bringing women into leadership spaces. We simply cannot build a secure or prosperous Nigeria if half of our population is left out of decision making tables.

When we champion women in governance, protect human rights, and confront the insecurities facing our communities, we are doing the real work of building an inclusive nation.

Today, let us look beyond the holiday and commit to making this vision a reality.

To secure the land, women must first sit at the table. Peace cannot be negotiated without the voices that hold the community together.

Insecur!!ty r@v@ges our society, yet the solutions remain incomplete without women at the decision-making table. True peace is built from the roots up. When women occupy their rightful places within traditional cabinets, they bring the strategic insight and grassroots leadership needed to heal and protect our communities.

Inclusion at all levels is no longer optional. It is the only way forward for a safer, more secure tomorrow.

We recently paid a strategic working visit to the office of Dr. Mrs. Ebele Georgina Chukwu Onuora, the State Project Coordinator for the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), a World Bank-assisted project dedicated to expanding secondary education and life-skill opportunities for adolescent girls across Nigeria.

The meeting, which took place on Monday, June 1, 2026, provided a powerful platform to align WEPBI's core commitment to gender equality and safe learning spaces with the impactful objectives of the AGILE initiative.

During our engagement with Dr. Mrs. Chukwu Onuora, we explored strategic pathways for collaboration, focusing on community-led advocacy, girl-child empowerment, and tearing down the socio-cultural barriers that limit girls' academic and personal growth.

When partners, stakeholders, and community members come together to champion institutional initiatives like AGILE, we create a stronger, safer blueprint for our girls to thrive!

Recently, leadership conversations for inclusion took center stage as WEPBI paid an advocacy visit to His Royal Majesty, Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu, Chairman of both the South East Traditional Rulers Council and the Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers.

Led by our Executive Director, Oguadimma Ijeoma Joy, the engagement was an opportunity to highlight our progress under the Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) and the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership – Nigeria (RWVL-N) Projects.
More importantly, we advocated for stronger, policy-driven inclusion of women within traditional governance structures across Enugu State.

We extend our deepest gratitude to His Royal Majesty for his remarkable openness and longstanding commitment to women’s empowerment and inclusive leadership.

This engagement is part of the RWVL-N Project supported by ActionAid Nigeria and fully funded by Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada

Children are a gift to the world and a reminder of hope for a better future. Today, we celebrate every child’s dreams, happiness, and potential.

At WEPBI, we will continue to support and advocate for a society where every child is given the care, protection, and opportunities they deserve.

Happy Children’s Day! 💜

WEPBI recently joined the kickoff and planning meeting for the Sister Guidance 111 Project.

Hosted by South Saharan Social Development Organization (SSDO) team, the session brought together all the implementing partners to map out how we will coordinate and work together.

The conversations focused on pushing for gender equality, tackling GBV, and building real support systems for women's self-reliance.
It was a solid start, and we're looking forward to collaborating with everyone involved to make a lasting impact.
