Speech by Bishop (emeritus) Dr. Zephania Kameeta at renaming ceremony of committee rooms chamber & library at National Assembly.
Tuesday 9 June 2026. Parliament Building.
Many times in the most difficult situation of your life, you feel very much distressed and lonely, but don't let this discourage you. Those times are the school of life which make you wise, mature and strong. This strip away your illusions and teaches you what truly matters. In loneliness you meet the strongest version of yourself. Your pain and tears become the greatest teachers and encouragement to move forward. What you thought is the disaster in your life, become the quiet reward of growth and blessing in disguise for your progress, peace and joy.
Being a leader is not like wearing a necklace which you show off and expect people to admire. Leadership require your head, heart, hands, feet, soul and spirit to serve the people.
Leadership or public service whereever you are, is not about power and domination, but it is about service for the people. For that your memory will endure for generations.
The true fulfillment in your life will not come from wealth, important titles or impressive positions of leadership you occupied, but from leaving a positive mark of humility, love, kindness and caring. That mark will be a healing memory and example for the lives and hearts of those who were close to you but even also for those who just heard or read about you. This will continue for many years and for generations to come.
