Across the world, people wear FUNKY SOCKS on 21 March - World Down Syndrome Day.
Because 3 copies of the 21st chromosome...21 March annually
And socks look a bit like chromosomes..
In Namibia, it's also our Independence Day. People dress us in their traditional wear and celebrate all the wonderful and diverse cultures.
At Down Syndrome Association of Namibia, we really don't care if you have celebrated the day already yesterday or today or if you are going to celebrate it tomorrow or next Friday...
What's important is that you help spread awerness!!
Wear your funky socks, and share your photos!
We will run a campaign Friday, 27 March and share all the photos of participants across our networks!!
Have fun - create awerness and make a contribution if you can!
Tomorrow is World Down Syndrome Day! 💙💛
Wear your most colorful, patterned, or mismatched socks to celebrate, raise awareness, and support inclusion for people with Down syndrome. Let’s come together to recognize the beauty of diversity and help ensure everyone has the same opportunities to thrive.
Show us how you’re rocking your socks in the comments 👇 and tell us how you !
