Solidarity Community Care Organisation is a Namibian-registered Community Based Organisation (CBO) founded on 24 March 2006. To improve health and create prosperity for its beneficiaries in the communities where it works, the organisation has trained more than 150 Community Health and Development Workers in the Ohangwena, Oshikoto, Khomas, Oshana and Omusati regions of Namibia since 2007 with the

first funding from the UNAIDS-Small Grants Fund in Namibia. The organisation built a Community Healthcare and Development Centre in the village of Etope, in the Omulonga Constituency, Ohangwena Region, in 2008-2009, with funding from the US Ambassador's Self-Help Program and the Jet Community Awards. The organisation's Community Healthcare and Development Centre now provides clean water to a kindergarten and communities in Etope and other surrounding villages, and has been connected to electricity since 2011, thanks to support received from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives. The organisation's Community Health and Development Workers have been providing community-based healthcare and development services (primarily AIDS care, psychosocial support and child support) in the five (5) regions since 2007, reaching more than 5,000 people annually. The organisation's membership in all five regions is currently more than one hundred and fifty (150) members. One of the important projects, which the organisation implemented in 2008 with funding from the German Embassy in Namibia, is a Hammermill Project in King Kauluma village in the Oshikoto Region. All of the organisation's programmes and projects aim to support each other, regardless of the community they are in, in order to sustain the organisation and its programmes. The organisation is committed to continuing to provide care and support for HIV-positive people so that they can continue to live healthy lives and continue to make a significant contribution to the economic and social development of Namibia and the world as a whole. Of late, the organisation has changed its strategy to focus, not only in HIV/AIDS, but also in community development, and for this purpose it has made it making money a top priority in order to transform the organisation into a professional and sustainable organisation by 2023 with the capacity to carry out big impact projects.
