A Heartfelt Thank You to WINDHOEK HIRE SALES & SERVICES 🙏

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to WINDHOEK HIRE SALES & SERVICES (Family Guttzeit) for their incredible support during the weekend of 21–22 June 2025.

Through their generous sponsorship of a loader and operator, we were able to clear several high-risk areas identified as hiding spots, smuggling routes, and observation points — all of which posed a serious security concern for our community.

A special thanks goes to Joel, who operated the machine with absolute professionalism and skill. His work was instrumental in tackling some of the most difficult terrain.

The support and willingness shown by WINDHOEK HIRE SALES & SERVICES is something we simply cannot put into words. Thank you for standing with us and being part of this ongoing effort to make Kleine Kuppe safer for all.

Morning everyone,

We’re excited to share that KKNHW debushing will officially kick off tomorrow, starting with the field alongside houses bordering the veld. This phase will be carried out by WINDHOEK HIRE SALES & SERVICES, who have kindly offered their machinery and support.

👉 Please note: During this initial phase, we will not involve community members, as a safety measure while heavy machinery is in use.

Looking ahead, we’re preparing for the community-led debushing days on 5 July and 12 July 2025, where everyone will be welcome to join and assist.

More updates to follow soon — thank you for your continued support and patience!

We’re thrilled to share some major support updates for our debushing initiative:

✅ WINDHOEK HIRE SALES & SERVICES & the Guttzeit family have come on board to sponsor a TLB with an operator and fuel for our efforts! This is a huge boost, and we’re extremely grateful for their generosity.

✅ Camkay Plumbers and Construction has also stepped in to support us by availing their JCB backhoe to help clear veld along residential boundaries. A massive thank you to the Camkay team!

✅ TOTAL Tools Namibia has partnered with us by allowing us to test their latest debushing equipment on the market — we’re excited to see what these new tools can do!

✅ And a big thank you to Gawie Vermeulen owner of Shick Renovations & Electronic Garage Doors and Chairperson of the Cimbebasia Neighbourhood Watch, who will be assisting us with trimming and cutting the grass along Kleine Kuppe Weg.

Thank you to everyone making this possible, the momentum is building, and we’re on track to make a real impact in our community!

Once all logistics and machinery are in place, we will communicate the official debushing dates. We highly encourage everyone to be part of these days.

This will not be a once-off effort – it’s a continuous community project aimed at building a cleaner, safer Kleine Kuppe for all. So whenever you're available, come lend a hand, meet your neighbours, engage with the patrolling team, and be part of something meaningful.

KKNHW Debushing Initiative – Progress Update 🌿

We’re excited to share a quick update on our Kleine Kuppe Neighbourhood Watch (KKNHW) debushing initiative!

Last weekend, we conducted Test Phase and managed to clear approximately 80–100 meters of overgrown sidewalk using just one person and a wheateater, taking 3.5 hours and only N$12 of fuel.

While a great success, we discovered that wheateaters with fishing line are only suitable for grass. Small bushes cause the line to snap, so we’ll be moving forward with bladed wheateaters for greater efficiency.

A special thanks to Alan Lang from Talisman Hire, who has generously supplied the right equipment for the job. Your support is invaluable!

We also want to acknowledge our Kleine Kuppe Neighbourhood Watch Vice President, who personally stepped in to assist with the test phase, leading by example and showing what community commitment looks like. 👏

Next Steps:
We opened the WhatsApp group for planning discussions to set dates for the full-scale rollout. This won’t be a quick one-day job , we’ll need to set aside multiple weekends to do it right.

We propose starting at Koinseb Street, an area with frequent movement and activity (Old Zoo).

However, we’re open to suggestions from the community on where to begin.

Lastly, we are working to source a TLB or similar heavy machinery to help clear denser bush along properties bordering the veld. If you can assist or guide us in the right direction, we’d love to hear from you!

💚 Together, we’re building a safer, more visible, and united community.

🌿 A Big Thank You to Our Community! 🌿

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the amazing community members who are currently involved in the Kleine Kuppe debushing initiative.

Whether you've contributed your time, tools, funds, or simply lent a helping hand – your support is making a real difference in helping us create a safer and cleaner environment for everyone.

This is what true community spirit looks like, and we’re proud to be part of a neighbourhood that cares.

Let’s keep the momentum going! 💪🌱
