🎬 Our team recently wrapped up an inspiring week at INTEREST 2025 in Windhoek! Namibia hosted the 19th Interest 2025 Conference, which is Africa's leading scientific gathering on HIV treatment, prevention and research

Held from 13–16 May, this international conference brought together experts, leaders, and innovators to explore HIV research, care, and prevention in resource-limited settings.
NAMDEF was proud to be part of it—not just to attend, but to contribute meaningfully to the conversations shaping Africa’s public health future.
💬 “INTEREST is one of Africa’s leading HIV conferences, and being part of it was a learning milestone,” said Wilhelmina Ndeulita. “It was encouraging to see the progress many countries have made—over 80% of them are well on their way to the 95-95-95 UNAIDS goals. I was especially inspired by the PrEP injectable vaccine being developed and used by African countries—it’s a game changer.”
Alexinah Muadinohamba reflected on the importance of long-term thinking:

💬 “We must integrate HIV treatment into broader health systems. That’s the key to sustainability.”
Constance Mazeingo was equally inspired:

💬 “Community-driven approaches and peer-led care models really stood out. They restore dignity and improve outcomes, especially in remote areas.”

On 23 September 2024, NAMDEF had the honour of supporting the launch of International Deaf Awareness Month & Day of Sign Language in Namibia.
The event was filled with moving performances, heartfelt stories, and strong messages of inclusion. It reminded us how powerful it is when every voice is welcomed — no matter how it's expressed.
