Lechem Foundation

Lechem Foundation The Lechem Foundation impacts communities in partnership with soup kitchens and feeding schemes in and beyond Windhoek. Lechem is the Hebrew word for ‘Bread”.

Our purpose is to alleviate hunger, better lives and livelihoods, nurture spiritual wellbeing and promote long-term sustainability. Jesus Christ understood our need for daily sustenance when He prayed “Give us today our daily bread”. Bread then, is symbolic of what every person on earth needs to sustain their bodies. It represents the staples that communities live on to survive. But in the long ru

n, people need more than physical bread for their bodies to live, and to thrive. Jesus made the proclamation in John 6:48 that He is the Bread of Life. No one can deny that many people live without enough bread to eat to nourish and sustain their bodies, but many more live without the Bread of Life - God’s provision to us for eternal life. The name Lechem Foundation capture our purpose perfectly – to provide in the physical and spiritual needs of the people God loves so much!

This Friday has us reminiscing about last weekend’s girls camp 💛

At our Teen Girls Camp, we explored a powerful truth:
You are created on purpose, for a purpose.

Through sessions on identity, purpose, and renewing the mind, girls were invited to:
• Challenge negative thinking
• Discover their worth
• Build a foundation for their future

Our approach is simple:
Transformation over information

Because real change happens when truth is experienced—not just heard.

Thank you, Elim Training Centre for hosting us this weekend.

Thanks to a generous donation from FNB Namibia, through the FirstRand Namibia Foundation, we were able to purchase four 5,000-litre water tanks for our garden project.

With the recent rains, the tanks have already filled up beautifully — providing a reliable water reserve for our crops. This is an important step toward creating a more sustainable and resilient water source for our garden and the food we grow for the community.
We are grateful for partners who help us build long-term solutions that nourish both people and the land. 💧🌱

Thanks to a generous donation from FNB Namibia, through the FirstRand Namibia Foundation, we were able to plant 20 new fruit trees in our garden. These include granadilla, pomegranate, kumquat, plum trees, and four varieties of grapes.

This is a wonderful addition to our agro-forestry approach, where we combine sustainable planting with improved nutrition. Over time, these trees will not only strengthen our garden ecosystem but will also provide fresh, nutritious fruit to enrich the meals we serve.
We are excited to watch this part of the garden grow and bear fruit in the seasons to come. 🌳🍇🍑

This isn’t just gardening.🌿

It’s learning, sharing, experimenting, and discovering that small skills can grow into big opportunities.

Through practical training initiatives, Lechem Foundation helps communities cultivate confidence, responsibility, and stronger livelihoods.

And sometimes… a really good carrot.🥕

Today was a beautiful day at . 🤍

The Lechem Foundation, together with .eteens. We spent time with the wonderful staff and children , singing songs, sharing laughter, and simply enjoying being together.

Lechem Foundation has been blessed to partner with Hope Village since the very beginning, and it is always special to return.

Today we also remembered Marikie, the founder of Hope Village, on the one year anniversary of her going to be with the Lord. Her love and vision continue to live on through the staff and children and the incredible work still happening there.

Grateful for days like these.

Hunger is more than food.

It affects health, learning, dignity, and hope.
That is why meaningful care must go beyond a single meal. It must strengthen communities, restore dignity, and support people in ways that nourish the whole person.

Hunger does not knock once - it returns daily.

Thanks to our incredible soup kitchen partners, daily meals are served to children facing difficult times.

Together, we’re not just filling plates — we’re sharing dignity, compassion, and hope.

And it all starts with one meal.

Fruit trees going in the ground today. Not only will they provide a more suitable micro climate for the vegetables to grow in, they'll also produce fruit to add to the balanced diets we are striving for at the various soup kitchens.
