UPDATE ON RICHARD
Many loyal sponsors have asked me about Richard, I felt it best suited to give an update publicly. He crept into the hearts of so many people. I know Richard since I was 15. He was diagnosed with autism and he became blind as he aged. He lives a very painful and troublesome life in 8ste Laan for a very long time now. We tried our best to get him out of every environment that was not serving him. At some point he was neglected by family and sometimes left days without food, water, or even a bath for the day. When we found him in this state, we involved the law, and he was placed in the hands of his grandmother. She was much kinder and did what she could for Richard, given that she was frail and weak.
Richard would be sexually assaulted by the street kids, in the same place he called “home.” They would bully him, assault him, and violate him. He was blind and helpless, left alone and neglected. They would steal his clothes, money, food, EVERYTHING.
Richard is now doing much better, he gets all the nutrition he needs and we have sourced an education system that is specific to his condition. We still however, still seek for specialized attention for him since his grandmother is not able to fully cater for his needs on her own.
If you want to be a part of Richard’s journey, you can send us an email and we will get back to you ASAP. Our greatest desire is to get Richard out of 8ste Laan for good, so he can live instead of just surviving in fear.
He loves singing, dancing, music, and art. He’s an artists. A creator. He deserves a fair chance at experiencing life for what it truly is.
