The country’s Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) system faces accusations of failing both communities and the environment, according to a report released by the Namibian Environment and Wildlife Society recently.

Authored by John Pallett and Ndelimona Iipinge, the report highlights deficiencies in the EIA system.

Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) are important and doing them right is more important, so as to ensure that our environment is still able to sustain future generations.

Just to clarify, the EIA Tracker operates independently from the Ministry of Environment and is not involved in the Ministry's approval of the ECC. Our responsibility is to TRACK and DOCUMENT all EIAs nationwide to improve public access to EIA information and promote transparency within the EIA sector
