The Rundu Town Council has introduced an Interest Waiver Programme from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2028. Residents, businesses, and institutions can clear their outstanding municipal debt and receive a 100% waiver on accumulated interest when they pay the capital amount owed. Consumers are encouraged to visit the Revenue Division for account updates and payment arrangements

The Rundu Town Council calls on all pensioners to register and verify their pensioner rebate status for the 2026/2027 financial year to continue enjoying municipal account benefits. Eligible pensioners are encouraged to visit the Council offices from 1 June 2026 with their Identity Cards to register or complete the mandatory verification process.

The consultative meeting for the nomination of the NORED Board Representative was successfully held, bringing together members of the business community and stakeholders to deliberate on the selection process. Following the consultations, five members were nominated, namely: Muyenga Engelberth, Andreas Musimani, Isack Mario, Siteketa Elias, and Merengue Johannes.

The councill will now consider the five nominees and select one representative who will serve on the NORED Board of Directors. The process reflects Council’s commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and the appointment of competent leadership to support the development of the local authority electricity sector.

Accommodation providers, guesthouses, lodges, and private homeowners are invited to register available accommodation for the upcoming PE Games scheduled from 30 June to 5 July 2026. Rundu Town Council encourages all eligible providers within Rundu and a 50km radius to register and be part of this important event.

Municipal inspections and approvals remain mandatory to ensure safety, compliance, and orderly development within the Town. Residents are further reminded that only the Rundu Town Council is authorised to issue official completion and compliance certificates.

🚧 ROAD UPGRADING WORKS COMMENCE IN TUTUNGENI AND QUEENSPARK 🚧

The Rundu Town Council hereby informs residents and road users of the upcoming emergency infrastructure works in Tutungeni, aimed at repairing erosion damages, upgrading gravel roads to low volume seal roads, and improving stormwater drainage systems.

Residents are encouraged to cooperate during the construction period a the Council continues to enhance safer, resilien, and improved road infrastructure for the community.
