A Statement of Solidarity for Perlin Pride

We refuse to let hate have the final word.
The violence committed at Perlin Pride was an attack on dignity, humanity, and the fundamental right of every person to live openly and safely. We mourn those whose lives were taken and stand unwaveringly with every survivor, every witness, and every q***r person whose sense of safety was shaken.

Our response is not fear—it is solidarity. Our response is not silence—it is action.

We call for justice, accountability, and the protection of LGBTQIA+ communities everywhere. Pride is not a crime. Love is not a crime. Existing as your authentic self is not a crime.

To every q***r person: You are seen. You are valued. You belong. We will continue to raise our voices, defend our communities, and demand a world where every person can celebrate Pride without fear of violence.

We will not be intimidated. We will not be erased. We will not be silent.
Until every q***r life is safe, our fight for equality, dignity, and justice continues. 🌈🏳️‍⚧️🇳🇦

Today, on International Transgender Day of Visibility, we stand proudly as a rural, trans-led organization rooted in Namibia, honoring the courage, resilience, and beauty of transgender and gender-diverse people across our country.

From villages to towns, from quiet homesteads to growing communities, our identities exist, our voices matter, and our lives are worthy of dignity, safety, and opportunity. Visibility in rural spaces is not always easy, but it is powerful. It is an act of strength, of truth, and of hope.

We celebrate every trans person who continues to live authentically despite barriers. We uplift those who are still finding their voice. And we remember that visibility is not just about being seen, but about being valued, protected, and included.

As a rural trans-led NGO, we remain committed to creating safe spaces, advancing economic empowerment, and building a future where no one is left behind because of who they are.
