Today, !NKNONGO COMMUNITY COLLEGE successfully hosted a Community Beekeeping and Green Economy Information Session at Ongula Village Homestead Lodge, Namibia.

The engagement was both informative and inspiring, with an overwhelming response from community members, traditional leaders, youth and other stakeholders who expressed keen interest in the proposed Wildlife Apiculture Research and Training Institute and Green Economy Initiative.

A special highlight of the programme was the insightful presentations by Mr. David Mukoma, President of the APIMONDIA Regional Commission – Africa, who shared global perspectives on the role of apiculture in sustainable development, and Mr. Theodore Kaambu, Chief Forester from the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, who spoke on the importance of forestry, biodiversity conservation and sustainable beekeeping in Namibia.

The discussions reaffirmed that beekeeping is one of Namibia’s emerging industries, with enormous potential to create employment, strengthen environmental conservation, improve food security and unlock new entrepreneurial opportunities for communities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of today’s engagement.

Join us tomorrow, 24 July 2026, for the Regional Stakeholder Engagement in Okongo.

Venue: Cazador Guesthouse, Unit 11B, SME Park, Okongo
Time: 10h00

Come and be part of the conversation as we explore how partnerships, research, innovation and skills development can position the Ohangwena Region, and Namibia at large, as a leader in apiculture and the green economy.

It was a great honour and privilege for the Homestead Group team to engage with Her Excellency, President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, during her visit to our exhibition stand at the Omaludi Agricultural Festival.

As part of this memorable engagement, our team proudly presented Her Excellency with a beautiful traditional handbag handcrafted by trainees from Homestead Skills & Technical Education Academy — showcasing the creativity, talent, cultural pride, and practical skills being nurtured within our institution.

This moment reflects our commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, entrepreneurship, and preserving Namibian cultural identity through education and innovation.

We remain inspired by Her Excellency’s continued support for education, community empowerment, and inclusive development.

Together, we continue building opportunities for our communities and future generations.
