Our Story
SWAA-Moz (Society for Women and AIDS in Africa - Mozambique) is a mozambican Non-Governmental, non-profit, women-led Organization created in 2001 and legally registered on 2 April 2002. Membership to SWAA-Moz is open and is made-up of all women and men who agree with the principles of the organization and are willing to take part in the fight against HIV & AIDS, Gender Based Violence, Child Marriages and Gender Inequality and promote Human and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights now! The Vision of the organisation is ‘‘a world free of HIV & AIDS where African women and children are empowered to claim equal rights to healthcare, education and socio-economic opportunities’’.
The Mission is ‘‘to advocate for the fight against HIV & AIDS, women’s rights, eliminating discrimination against women including Gender Based Violence, advancing women’s capacities and leadership skills, promoting women’s participation in decisions that affect their lives, and amplifying their voices for gender equality related issues’’. The slogan of the Organization is “Together We Shall Win!”
