🏆♟️ 莫三比克ACC院童勇奪全國西洋棋賽亞軍！

恭喜！恭喜！🎉

莫三比克ACC院童再次於西洋棋比賽中獲得佳績！

大資於2026年8月底在Inhambane省舉行的**全國學校運動會（National School Games）**中，代表索法拉省參加西洋棋比賽，並取得優異成績。

憑藉著勤奮、紀律、堅持、決心，以及強烈的競爭精神，大資早前已在Dondo區西洋棋比賽中勇奪冠軍。憑藉出色的賽績，他獲選代表Sofala省，與來自莫三比克全國各省的頂尖西洋棋選手一較高下，爭奪全國錦標。

經過為期兩星期的賽事，大資在個人賽中取得10戰8勝的優異成績，勇奪銀牌，成為全國西洋棋亞軍！🥈

此外，他亦與來自索法拉省的隊友並肩作戰，在團體賽中再下一城，榮獲季軍！🥉

其實，這份榮耀絕非偶然。過去幾年，大資一直獲選參加不同單位舉辦的校外西洋棋比賽，並屢獲佳績。今年，他先在區級西洋棋比賽中奪得冠軍，從而取得代表索法拉省參加全國賽的資格。
一步一腳印，從區賽冠軍，到代表省份出戰全國賽，再到站上全國賽的頒獎台，這背後是大資一直以來努力不懈、刻苦訓練及堅持到底的成果。👏

🌟 省長親自表揚，肯定卓越表現

為表揚大資在全國學校運動會中的努力及優異表現，索法拉省省長 Mr Lourenço Bulha 於9月8日接見代表索法拉省參賽的運動員。
會面期間，省長特別向大資頒發表揚獎牌及榮譽證書，以肯定他在全國學校運動會中的卓越表現，並鼓勵他繼續努力、發揮所長。🏅📜

🏆♟️ ACC MOZAMBIQUE STUDENT WINS SILVER AT THE NATIONAL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Another outstanding achievement by an ACC Mozambique student in chess!

In late August 2026, Da Zi represented Sofala Province in the Chess competition at the National School Games, held in Inhambane Province, and achieved an outstanding result.

With hard work, discipline, perseverance, determination, and a strong competitive spirit, Da Zi had already won the championship at the Dondo District Chess Competition. His excellent performance earned him the opportunity to represent Sofala Province at the national level, competing against some of the best young chess players from provinces across Mozambique.

After two weeks of competition, Da Zi achieved an impressive 8 wins out of 10 matches, winning the individual silver medal and becoming the National Chess Runner-up! 🥈

He also fought alongside his teammates from Sofala Province in the team competition, where they achieved an excellent third-place finish! 🥉

🌟 This Honour Did Not Come by Chance
For the past several years, Da Zi has been selected to participate in chess competitions organised by different institutions, consistently achieving excellent results.

This year, he first won the championship at the district-level chess competition, which earned him the opportunity to represent Sofala Province at the National School Games.

From winning the district championship, to representing his province on the national stage, and finally standing on the national podium, this achievement is the result of Da Zi’s continuous effort, dedicated training, perseverance, and determination. 👏

🌟 Provincial Governor Recognises His Outstanding Performance
In recognition of Da Zi’s efforts and outstanding performance at the National School Games, Sofala Provincial Governor Mr Lourenço Bulha received the athletes who represented Sofala Province on 8 September.

During the meeting, the Governor personally presented Da Zi with a recognition medal and certificate of honour, acknowledging his outstanding and inspiring performance at the National School Games and encouraging him to continue developing his talents. 🏅📜

❤️ The Honour Does Not Belong to One Person — It Belongs to Everyone Who Walked This Journey Together

After the competition, Da Zi shared with everyone that this honour does not belong to him alone.

Behind this achievement are the love, encouragement, and support of his ACC sponsoring parents, teachers, fellow students, and everyone who has accompanied him, as well as his own hard work and dedication.

He deeply understands that today's achievement is the result of the collective efforts and support of many people. He therefore expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers, fellow students, and everyone who has encouraged and supported him throughout his journey and growth. ❤️

🌸 2026浴佛法會 🌸

值此佛誕(佛曆2570年)之際，莫三比克ACC全體同人懷著感恩、恭敬與歡喜的心，摰誠參與浴佛法會。

法會開始前, 部分孩子也主動發心，幫忙準備包括打掃佛堂, 佈置, 清潔所有佛像。

法會首先恭誦《金光明經》第十七品〈捨身品〉，此品講述菩薩（釋迦牟尼佛的前世）在與二位兄長同行時，於懸崖邊遇見一隻飢餓的母虎，正因無力覓食而瀕臨絕境，並需餵養七隻初生幼崽。菩薩見其困境，生起大悲之心，觀照救度眾生之重要，遂發願以自身布施，行究竟之大捨，捨身救護母虎及其幼崽，進一步成就波羅蜜之圓滿。〈捨身品〉提醒我們應該放下自我、培養慈悲心，並以利益眾生為己任。 隨後的繞佛、佛前大供，以及在浴佛儀式中，大眾以香湯灌沐佛身，象徵洗滌內心的煩惱與無明，並發願淨化身心、轉化不良習氣。

「我今灌沐諸如來， 淨智莊嚴功德海。 五濁眾生離塵垢， 同證如來淨法身。」

大眾以恭敬的態度, 真誠讀誦經典、念誦佛號、灌沐如來，以表達對三寶的恭敬。願大眾智慧與慈悲增長，自利利他，出離煩惱。 祝福大家佛誕吉祥🙏✨

🌸 Buddha Bathing Ceremony 2026 🌸

On the occasion of Buddha’s Birthday (Buddhist Era 2569), all members of ACC Mozambique sincerely participated in the Buddha
Bathing Ceremony with hearts filled with gratitude, respect, and joy.

Before the ceremony began, some children also took the initiative to volunteer, helping to prepare by cleaning the temple, arranging decorations, and thoroughly cleaning all Buddha statues.

The ceremony began with the reverent recitation of the Golden Light Sutra, Chapter 17 — “Abandoning the Self”. This chapter tells the story of the Bodhisattva (the past life of Sakyamuni Buddha) who, while travelling with his two elder brothers, encountered a starving tigress at the edge of a cliff. Unable to find food and on the brink of despair, she was also caring for her seven newborn cubs. Seeing her suffering, the Bodhisattva aroused great compassion, deeply reflecting on the importance of saving sentient beings. He then vowed to offer his own body as the ultimate act of generosity, sacrificing himself to save the tigress and her cubs, thereby completing the perfection of the paramitas.

This chapter reminds us to let go of self-centeredness, cultivate compassion, and dedicate ourselves to benefiting all sentient beings.

The ceremony continued with circumambulation, grand offerings, and the Buddha bathing ritual. During the bathing of the Buddha, everyone gently poured fragrant water over the Buddha statue, symbolizing the cleansing of inner afflictions and ignorance, and the aspiration to purify body and mind while transforming unwholesome habits.

“I now bathe all Tathagatas, Whose pure wisdom adorns the ocean of merits.
May sentient beings in the five defilements be freed from dust and impurities,
And together realize the pure Dharma body of the Tathagata.”

With reverence, all participants sincerely recited sutras and Buddha’s names, and bathed the Tathagata, expressing respect for the Triple Gem. May wisdom and compassion grow within all, benefiting both self and others, and leading to liberation from afflictions.

孩子們的一篇“自我介紹”，內容必須包含簡單介紹自己、興趣、專長、好朋友、感恩的人或事、夢想以及對自己的期許。孩子用有限的詞彙寫出內心最深的感受及感恩，並對自己的夢想與期許侃侃而談，字裡行間透露出孩子的真、孩子的善與對自己未來的美好憧憬。

慈宙寫到她最厲害的地方就是教家裡的小妹妹們摺衣服，讓他們把衣服摺得整整齊齊、漂漂亮亮的。

大洪寫著他最感恩和尚爸爸遠從台灣來到非洲建立ACC幫助非洲的孩子，讓他能安心安穩的讀書。感恩院長爸爸從新加坡遠道而來，關心他們學習，照顧他們日常生活，他才能健康平安的成長。
慈玄寫到我現在讀書、以後工作，都不是只為自己，是為了要幫助我的國家和那些吃不飽、穿不暖、沒有家住的人。我要好好努力學習，完成我的夢想。

慈乃寫出希望自己成為一個有智慧、有能力幫助別人的人。期許自己能不忘初心，因為曾經接受ACC的照顧，進入社會後，要像和尚爸爸一樣，延續這份愛。

許多孩子都有著相同的想法，帶著感謝感恩的心，珍惜現在所擁有，期許自己將來長大也能回饋社會，如同和尚爸爸、院長爸爸對他們無所求的付出 !

Short Essay Writing Practice

The children wrote a short essay titled “Self-Introduction.” Their compositions had to include a brief introduction of themselves, their interests, talents, best friends, people or things they are grateful for, their dreams, and their hopes for themselves. Using their limited vocabulary, the children expressed their deepest feelings and gratitude.

They also spoke confidently about their dreams and expectations for the future. Between the lines, one can clearly see their sincerity, kindness, and beautiful hopes for the future.

Ci Zhou wrote that the thing she is best at is teaching her younger sisters at home how to fold clothes neatly and beautifully.

Da Hong wrote that he is most grateful to “Papa Master” who came all the way from Taiwan to Africa to establish ACC and help African children, giving him the opportunity to study in peace and stability. He is also grateful to “Papa Director,” who traveled from Singapore to care about their learning and daily lives, allowing him to grow up safely and healthily.

Ci Xuan wrote that her studies now, and her future work later on, are not only for herself, but also to help her country and those who do not have enough food, warm clothing, or a home. She wants to study hard and fulfill her dreams.

Ci Nai expressed her wish to become a wise and capable person who can help others. She hopes to never forget her original intention because she once received care from ACC. After entering society, she wants to continue this love just like “papa Master.”

Many children share the same aspiration: carrying hearts full of gratitude, cherishing what they have now, and hoping that when they grow up, they too can give back to society, just as “papa Master” and “papa Director” have selflessly devoted themselves to the children.

2026莫三比克ACC圓通學校注音符號闖關活動

本學期的中文課，除了中文教師雯淇老師外，還添加了三位從台灣來的志工老師，一起協助為期三個月的中文教學。首次嘗試跨年級的分組教學，因為採小班制，學生能力相當，老師可以兼顧到每一個孩子的學習狀況，達到較好的學習成效。學期末，為四到七年級的孩子安排了闖關活動，請九年級的哥哥姐姐當關主，八年級當組長，帶領弟弟妹妹闖關，藉由多元的闖關活動來檢核孩子的學習成效，期許孩子能樂在學習，學習快樂。

闖關內容包含基本的注音認讀與拼讀、兒歌童唱、日常生活用語的運用和用餐前後供養結齋的吟誦。讓孩子將學會的中文落實在生活中，中文不再只是一門學科更是日常溝通應用的工具。

闖關當天，佛堂四周的迴廊充滿了孩子們認真地拼讀聲、兒歌童謠的歡唱聲、你問我答的歡笑聲與莊嚴大聲的吟誦聲。過程中呈現了院區大孩子愛護弟弟妹妹、小小孩尊敬哥哥姊姊的溫馨畫面，也充分展現出孩子們能動能靜的學習樣貌。

學習是一種積累，是知識的積累，更是態度的積累。希望孩子們都能快樂學習，不斷進步，每一個孩子都能成為最優秀的寶貝 !

2026 ACC Yuan Tong School Zhuyin Challenge Activity in Mozambique

During this semester’s Chinese classes, in addition to the Chinese teacher, Ms. Wenqi, three volunteer teachers from Taiwan also joined to assist with the three-month Chinese teaching program. This was the school’s first attempt at cross-grade group teaching. With the small-class system, students of similar abilities were grouped together, allowing teachers to better attend to each child’s learning progress and achieve improved learning outcomes.

At the end of the semester, a Zhuyin challenge activity was specially arranged for students from Grades 4 to 7. Grade 9 students served as station leaders, while Grade 8 students acted as team leaders to guide their younger schoolmates through the different challenge stations. Through these diverse and interactive activities, the school was able to assess the children’s learning achievements while encouraging them to enjoy learning and grow happily through the process.

The challenge activities included basic Zhuyin recognition and pronunciation, children’s songs and rhymes, the use of daily conversational phrases, and the chanting before and after meals. The goal was to help students apply the Chinese they had learned in their daily lives, making Chinese not only a school subject but also a practical tool for daily communication and real-life use.

On the day of the event, the corridors surrounding the Buddha Hall were filled with the sounds of children carefully practicing pronunciation, joyfully singing children’s songs, laughing during question-and-answer interactions, and chanting loudly and solemnly. Throughout the activity, heartwarming scenes could be seen as older students cared for their younger schoolmates and the younger children showed respect to their older brothers and sisters. The event also fully demonstrated the children’s ability to learn through both active participation and quiet concentration.

Learning is a process of accumulation — not only the accumulation of knowledge, but also the cultivation of attitude and character. It is hoped that every child can continue learning happily, keep improving, and grow into the best and brightest version of themselves.

「布施」是菩薩六度波羅蜜中的首項，也是菩提道的殊勝修行 🌿，對治自己貪心的煩惱，同時利益他人 🤝。此外，自己就算具足權勢與地位，行善也不應心懷傲慢，需生起平等心 ⚖️。

在《增壹阿含經．卷第二十四．善聚品第三十二》中有這樣的一個故事：

一天佛陀和五百位比丘住在毘舍離的獼猴林中 🏞️。有一天，一位名叫師子的將軍來拜見佛陀。他見到佛陀後，恭敬地頂禮 🙏，然後坐在一旁。

佛陀問他：「師子，你現在還有在布施嗎？」

將軍回答：「是的，世尊。我常常在城內外布施，讓大家都不缺乏。有人需要食物，我就給食物；也會提供衣服、香花、車馬和座位。只要有人有需要，我都盡量幫助。」

佛陀讚歎他說：「你能這樣樂於布施，而且不自私，非常難得。如果繼續這樣做，會得到五種好處：

第一，你會有好名聲 🌟，很多人會稱讚你是樂於助人的人。
第二，不論你到哪裡，都會感到安心、不害怕，就像獅子一樣自在 🦁。
第三，大家會尊敬你、喜歡你，見到你都會感到開心 😊。
第四，將來你會投生到好的地方，不是在天上，就是在人間做受人尊敬的人 ✨。
第五，你的智慧會增長 📖。如果你發心修行，這一生就有機會解脫煩惱，不再受生死輪迴。

只要用歡喜心持續布施，就一定能得到這五種好處。」

真正的布施，是不執著於形式的，也就是「無相布施」 🌸。當我們把東西給出去之後，不會覺得自己是在施予別人，反而會感謝對方願意接受 🙏，讓自己有機會與人結善緣 🤝。這樣的布施，是出於尊重，也是帶著感恩的心 💛。

ACC接受十方的布施，為院區內的孩子提供三餐溫飽 🍚、衣服 👕、住宿與教育 📚。同時，也會將物資捐贈給社區中有需要的人士。

莫三比克ACC特別向扶輪社（香港西北分會）及世界各地的捐助者致以誠摯的感謝 🙏🌍。正是因為他們慷慨的支持，我們每個月才能夠向當地有需要的人提供食物與援助 🍲🤍。

Giving (dāna) is the first of the Six Pāramitās practiced by bodhisattvas, and it is an excellent practice on the path to enlightenment 🌱. It helps reduce our own greed while benefiting others 🤝. Even with power or status, we should not become proud when doing good deeds, but cultivate equality toward all ⚖️.

There is a story in Chapter 24, Ekottarika Āgama:

The Buddha once stayed in the Monkey Grove at Vesālī with 500 monks 🏞️. A general named Siṃha came to see him and respectfully bowed 🙏.

The Buddha asked, “Siṃha, do you still practice giving?”

The general replied that he gave food, clothing, transport, and other necessities to all who needed them.

The Buddha praised him and taught the five benefits of generosity 🌟:

1.Good reputation
2.Fearlessness like a lion 🦁
3.Respect and joy from others 😊
4.Good rebirth in heaven or as a respected human ✨
5.Growing wisdom and liberation from suffering 📖

Anyone who gives with a joyful heart will receive these benefits.

True giving is not attached to form—it is “giving without attachment” 🌸. After giving, we feel grateful that others accept, allowing us to form good connections 🤝. It is an act of respect and gratitude 💛.

ACC receives offerings from all directions and provides children with daily meals 🍚, clothing 👕, accommodation, and education 📚. It also shares resources with those in need in the local community.

ACC Mozambique sincerely thanks the Rotary Club (Hong Kong Northwest Division) and donors worldwide 🙏🌍. Because of their generous support, we are able to provide monthly food and assistance to those in need locally 🍲🤍.

📚 圓通學校的圖書館終於開幕啦！ 🎉

現在它已經變成校園裡最酷的據點。孩子們善用課間休息和午餐時間在那裡閱讀，完全出於自發。他們甚至在下課時就迫不及待地衝進圖書館。孩子看書就是這麼自在、這麼棒。📖💪

而且從我們每天的借閱記錄中發現一件很酷的事：好多學生都在讀中文書。

重點來了：

✅ 我們有真正的圖書管理員在管理 – 這位管理員懂書、也愛幫學生找對的書。

✅ 每天管理員會記錄誰進來、幾點來、借了什麼書。幫我們掌握閱讀狀況，並維持圖書和環境整齊有序。

✅ 還有 – 我們正在採購葡萄牙文的佛教書籍。因為我們希望佛法能滋養眾生的心靈，並找到真正快樂的方法。

喔，還一件超棒的事……

Dane Wambiri 先生 – 也就是 Fundza 出版社與書店的老闆兼創辦人 – 親自來到圓通學校的圖書館拜訪。他不只是單單說「圖書館不錯」就走，而是認真地指導我們：

· 如何正確營運圖書館
· 協助整理書籍、進行分類
· 成立一個圖書館管理小組（出版社後續還會監督並協助我們）
· 提供我們書目參考資料的指引
· 建立一個社群群組，管理員會在裡面收到讓圖書館符合標準所需的各種電子資料

簡單來說，他確保我們用正確的方式在做事。真的萬分感謝！🙏

圖書館不光是放書的地方，更重要的是，讓大家養成一個會跟著我們一輩子的閱讀習慣。
在這裡圓通學校，已經有了一個超棒的開始！

📚 Guess what? Yuan Tong School library is finally open! 🎉

And honestly? It's already becoming the coolest spot in school..The children are making good use of their school breaks and lunchtime to read there—entirely on their own initiative. They even rush into the library during break time.That's how good it feels. 📖💪

And here's something cool from our daily records: lots of students are reading Chinese books – which is awesome to see.

Here's the deal:

✅ We've got a real librarian running things – someone who actually knows books and loves helping students find the right one.

✅ Every day we track who comes in, when, and what books they borrow (including those Chinese books!). Nothing creepy – just helps us see who's reading and keep things organized.

✅ Also – we are buying Buddhist books in Portuguese. Because we want the Dharma to nourish the hearts of all beings and help them find the way to true happiness.

Oh, and something awesome happened...

Mr. Dane Wambiri – the founder and owner of Fundza, the book publisher– came to visit our library at Yuan Tong School. He didn't just say "nice library" and leave. He actually:

· Showed us how to run the library properly
· Helped with arranging books and sorting them by category
· Set up a library management group (and the publisher will keep an eye on it to help us)
· Gave us guidelines on bibliographic references
· Created a social media group where our librarian gets materials to keep the library up to standard

Basically, he made sure we're doing this the right way. So grateful! 🙏

This library isn't just about books. It's about building a reading habit that stays with you for life. And we're off to an amazing start.

🌕 慶元宵活動 🎉

三月三日是一年一度的華人元宵節，有「小過年』之稱，是個充滿古典浪漫與歡慶的傳統節日。四位從台灣遠道而來的華語老師，設計了摺天燈、搓湯圓等活動，讓孩子體驗中華傳統文化。

高中部的大哥哥、大姊姊，一個步驟一個步驟、耐心教著弟弟妹妹們摺出屬於自己的天燈，並且寫上願望與祝福。微風徐徐，一盞盞懸掛在佛堂前的天燈，彷彿將孩子們的心聲傳送到佛祖身旁。

元宵節慶中最不可或缺的就是「湯圓」。孩子們搓著圓圓的湯圓，象徵事事圓滿，而這充滿祝福的湯圓，也就成為晚餐上的明星商品。

晚餐，除了孩子自己搓的湯圓甜品，還有定滿法師製作的涼麵及保母的爆米花。接著登場的是期待已久的營火晚會🔥，晚會結合了孩子的童軍課程、自架營火及節目設計，大家歡快的圍著營火唱歌跳舞，度過了一個溫馨難忘的元宵夜！🔥✨

誠心祈求這一年風調雨順、國泰民安，事事都順利！🌟

🌕 Lantern Festival Celebration 🎉

March 3 marked the annual Chinese Lantern Festival, also known as the “Little New Year.” It is a traditional festival filled with classical romance and joyful celebration. Four Mandarin teachers who traveled all the way from Taiwan thoughtfully designed activities such as making sky lanterns and making tangyuan (glutinous rice balls), allowing the children to experience the beauty of traditional Chinese culture firsthand.

The senior high school students patiently guided the younger children step by step in folding their own sky lanterns and writing down their wishes and blessings. As the gentle breeze blew, the lanterns hanging in front of the Buddha Hall seemed to carry the children’s heartfelt prayers to the Buddha above, creating a warm and touching scene.

During the Lantern Festival, the most indispensable treat is tangyuan (glutinous rice balls). The children rolled the round tangyuan by hand, symbolizing completeness and harmony in all things. Filled with blessings and good wishes, these delightful rice balls became the star of the dinner table.

For dinner, besides the sweet tangyuan made by the children themselves, there were also cold noodles prepared by Venerable Dingman and popcorn made by the house mother.

What followed was the long-awaited campfire night 🔥. The evening combined the children’s Scout training, building their own campfire, and program planning. Everyone joyfully gathered around the fire, singing and dancing together, spending a warm and unforgettable Lantern Festival night. 🔥✨
