He started his journey of taking POO KAVADI in the year 1983 whereby the 1st of many version of POO KAVADI was taken by him. He is the backbone of the POO KAVADI group since the beginning till to date and will forever be our backbone. Under his guidance emerged many kavadi bearers young and old. He has inspired many people to carry mayil kavadi and has thought many people in how to build their own
kavadi. He has successfully carried the POO KAVADI for 30 years (this is beyond some of our youth’s age in the group). This is a certainly beyond a salute and more than a round of applause. The POO KAVADI is his mastery of his own creation which he only uses fresh flowers and fresh leaves and ties the flowers together for 3 days before placing in on the kavadi. The POO KAVADI group has another pillar that supports the group which is non other than our Suresh Singh and fondly known as Suresh anneh he has been with Jega for 28 years. He is the chief architect of the group and all design are mostly designed by him. He has been carrying kavadi for d first 2 years with pantai n then the POO KAVADI since 1985 which makes this his total 31 years. Suresh has revolutionize Jega design from Rotan kavadi to the current design of polycarbonate mayil kavadis which many others have followed in this recent years. His partnership with Jega has been long and we wish them many more good long years of friendship.
