Kembara Lestari Air & Inovasi Pintar Orang Asli 2026 Perkasa Literasi Air Murid

Tebatan Banjir Bukan Jaminan Bebas Bencana

Walaupun pelbagai projek tebatan banjir sedang dilaksanakan di seluruh negara, kita perlu memahami bahawa mitigasi banjir bertujuan mengurangkan risiko, bukannya menghapuskan banjir sepenuhnya.

On 16 May 2026, thousands gathered for a meaningful and vibrant World Water Day celebration officiated by the Chief Minister of Penang State. The event successfully attracted more than 1,500 participants and featured a variety of exciting activities, including the Water Run, watercolour and painting competitions, exhibitions, and community engagement programmes.

We were proud to represent the School of Humanities Universiti Sains Malaysia through our booth promoting the MSc Geomatics (Disaster Risk Reduction) and PhD Disaster Risk Management under DIGIHAZ. At the same time, we also introduced the role and activities of the Persatuan Geografi Malaysia - GeogMalaysia in advancing geographical education, research, and public awareness.

This year’s campaign also emphasised an important sustainability target: reducing water consumption to below 250 litres per capita per day. It was truly inspiring to witness the strong public commitment towards water conservation and environmental sustainability. Every small effort matters in building a more resilient and sustainable future for the next generation.

A sincere thank you to all organisers, agencies, volunteers, students, and participants who contributed to the success of this wonderful event. Together, let us continue protecting every drop of water for a better tomorrow. πŸ’™
